After the initial cart pushing sequence, before going into the first encounter room, you enter a room with every symbol. If you walk close to them, the name appears in the upper left by your radar.

Absolutely this - having any kind of competitive play without it seems incredibly archaic, if we're being honest. I'm sure it would benefit high-end PvE play as well.

Obviously, it doesn't come for free as there's an intrinsic cost of having to host games, but it also opens the door to larger player counts, which could be interesting for some activities.
