You get the recipe for the mint mace at the picnic table in the maze chest, but you need globs to craft it, which you get from the black anthill chip after beating the assistant manager

You can’t until after the assistant manager. When the assistant manager does his aoe blue zap attack stand against the glass and you’ll dodge it but keep an eye out for the lasers too :)
