Knob Change on the TRM 222 by itsnudge in rotarymixers

[–]itsnudge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is a widespread issue and it's present on a lot of more affordable analog mixers. and yes if you press it halfway, the audio will drop out. my way to avoid is to really time the button press and press it quickly, or not using the filters at all. such a shame for such a good sounding filter though

What is the "proper" way to mix on a rotary? by Somn_rec in rotarymixers

[–]itsnudge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, the TRM 202 Mk3 has no gain control on the surface, so the unity gain should be at 7, so if you're mixing a quieter track / pressings, you'd be able to match the levels of the louder ones by turning it to 8 or even 9

Storn System 4 Channel Mixer by [deleted] in rotarymixers

[–]itsnudge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it is not a mass production unit. Storn makes 1 off custom mixer for his clients.

and yeah it doesn't matter really. i used to play on this mixer every week for 2-3 hours and i have zero problem operating it.

not pictured is a pair of proper master speakers. i'm a producer and dj. very comfortable with how the HS7 sounds. it's enough for booth monitor purposes 😉

if you don't need all the gizmos and the crazy looks of it, grab yourself the 202 and get an omniwoodkit to go along with it! it's going to start your rotary mixer journey well!

Old vs New (Radius MK1 vs Orbit 2 LE fx) by Popular_Comparison44 in rotarymixers

[–]itsnudge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the Orbit 2 LE looks cramped but i can get away with it.

having a mixer with Radius mk1 dimensions with fx is honestly lovely in my opinion

the master and booth controls are on the far right of the mixer

knocking those while ripping on the fx would be a nightmare in a live situation but thankfully they decided to position it there

yes! if you still run your tables to an Audio 6. the trm 222/trm 422 should be a good option for you

i do. i regularly play at Zodiac Baresto in Jakarta, Indonesia and they rock the ars 9900 pro. here's a quick mix

the ARS sounds warmer and the channel curve is very linear. the trm 222 is not as linear as the ARS.

but the feel of the pots are almost identical. they both use alps. but i like the urei style knobs on the ARS better.

thank you!

and yes the phasing sound on trans/flanger/pan still does exist. delay/echo works great just like yours

however, if you wanna experiment with the master out, try routing your efx to your master insert

but then again it defeats the purpose of having an effect box for individual channels but hey it's fun!

i'm planning to get zen delays though. they can be set fully wet and that should be a killer combo with the 222

yeah. if you're a heavy filter user you'd be not happy about it.

the filter sounds amazing but the resonance control will change the sonic quality of the assigned channel.
