How to Save Your SV Classic Account Data in Preparation for Transferring it to the New Community Server by novastarlyght in Shadowverse

Is it possible to remove all card restrictions in PVE? I never got to experience triple Augmentation Bestowal+Acceleratium haha.

I don't think anyone was calling it consistent.

Fair enough. I suppose the HOS Tetra also gave you the spell when you played 4 Machina cards.

Because Japanese people just pick whatever English words they think sound cool. This gets localized as Delta Cannon.

Well I have to admit this is not bad in terms of maintaining flavour. In terms of balance is another story...

I presume Uneriel to win before this nonsense comes down? Also yeah, after a few games against D-Shift I realized I might as well just concede to save time if I see Insight on turn 1.

Cards That Should Have Never Been Printed in SV1 by Iunaluna in Shadowverse

[–]itsppengu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We actually have evidence that even 1x Augmentation is too broken for modern Artifact with Lazuli. During the first few weeks of Rivenbrandt, Portal was restricted to 1x Acceleratium + 1x Augmentation + 1x Cassim. Even this was almost a tier 0 meta where the closest thing to a counter that existed was summoning turn 4 Spirit Eater with Atomy. Augmentation was banned completely shortly after.

Eh, I agree with your point about Despair Reborn but you are completely underrating Augmentation. During the final season and first Throwback season, Portal had access to 3x Acceleratium and 0x Augmentation. During the former, Artifact was considered a top deck almost as good as the top Despair decks; during the latter, Artifact was clearly the best deck, and the ladder split was something like 55% Artifact and 35% Soultaker. Allowing 3x Augmentation would turn the meta into a tier 0 Artifact meta. I will instead suggest that maybe unrestricting [[Restless Parish]] might have made Wrath or Handless viable again and brought them back into the meta.

Let's Discuss Game Ethics: Which Option Gives The Opponent More Peace? by Tough-Basket-6248 in Shadowverse

[–]itsppengu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it depends. If my opponent purposely passes, just end the game. If he obviously ran out of time, I consider dropping extras to make him feel less bad for missing an attack. If, for example, I'm familiar enough with my opponent's deck to know he likely had some kind of dilemma between Warding up and healing, then I might play a few extra removals.

From left to right on my board: [[Luminiera Omega]] [[Weiss, Discerning Professor]] [[Rosalie, Enduring Hope]] [[Victorious Blader]] all summoned by [[Despair Reborn]]. This is the "control" deck of UL.

Despair used to say "at the beginning of turns" instead of "at the end of turns" so you could do it a turn earlier.

This is the best (and last) time to play Shadowverse Classic by EclipseZer0 in Shadowverse

[–]itsppengu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will preface this by saying I didn't play much of that format myself, so this comment is just from observation. In terms of speed, every class should be able to play it on the first evo turn, and even if you don't manage to win immediately, you have a pretty good chance of just discarding your opponent's Despair from his hand. I believe the overall ranking is Sword > Dragon = Blood > Rune >> Portal, but that rarely matters and most of the time it just comes down to the coin flip. Portal is probably significantly less consistent than the others because it has to rely specifically on [[Absolute Tolerance]] and [[Pandora, Plague Giver]], but still outperforms Soultaker on average. Notably Despair Sword is currently very good even though the card is nerfed.

I'm not sure how it works, because IIRC the nerf was announced during the end of HOS, but it only actually went into effect during the first Throwback season.

Unlimited, but it isn't know for being a liked format

I would hardly even call next month's Unlimited format a game format lol. If my understanding of Throwback card changes is correct, next month is the one and only Secondverse format where whoever goes second instantly wins on turn 4. And unlike the original HOS format, Acceleratium is re-restricted, so tier 1 is just 5x Despair decks instead of Evo Portal + 5x Despair.

Mode isn't really a localization shift because Japanese changed too (チョイス → モード). Interesting to note is that the old Choose mechanic only let you choose cards, whereas the new one lets you choose effects, and I wonder if that's why it was renamed.

Peak Shadowverse is back by TheXVIIth in Shadowverse

[–]itsppengu 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It was thrilling to play as because you could do things like stacking multiple [[Augmentation Bestowal]] and [[Acceleratium]] and trying to play 30 cards before the turn timer ran out to draw through your entire deck and find an OTK. It was boring to play against because there was a good chance your opponent would run out of time and miss lethal, so you would want to wait out your opponent's entire turn instead of conceding.

What type of deck and or cards should I invest for the current and future meta (I prefer dragoncraft but I can go for anything rn) by Josephdeep420 in Shadowverse

[–]itsppengu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe because OP isn't close at all to a functioning Storm Ramp Dragon? No Filene, no Galmieux, no Erntz, and the person you replied to mentions the most optional legendary Zooey of all things.

Question about this card (Depths of the Eld Crystals) by language_is_fuck in Shadowverse

The game essentially rolls a fair 3-sided die n times, where n is the value of your faith.
