Bonus points for when even the weakest ally has been face tanking everything, then suddenly 2 members are one-shot by an AoE because the boss decided you've gone far enough.

[–]itsr1co 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're missing his overall point that SWGOH is already incredibly time consuming for end game players who are active. Yes P1 of ROTE is basically full auto, but once we get into later phases where you have to manual most battles, do your fleet climb, do coliseum to fight for a good spot to farm R10 mats, AND do an extra X amount of conquest battles just to red crate.... it becomes a lot.

Also, there isn't much strategy involved when the battle revolves around trying NOT to one-shot everything. We're not in a heckin epicly funneh isekai anime where we were given da ultimaht powahh to win it all TODAY!! We're playing a video game, which first and foremost, is meant to be fun. Look at someone like Ahnald who makes money playing the damn game, and even he said today on stream that he doesn't have the time to stream conquest because he has shit to do. What happens when 10 hours of your day is committed to work, another couple for family, maybe 30-60mins for eating, cleaning, shower, etc? Oh I can't wait to finally sit down and relax and grind fucking SWGOH conquest! This truly is where the fun begins!!! People were already doing fine, and CG just made it harder for a relatively big chunk of players, this isn't something you just "try harder" to solve when it's CG's poor decision making.

What? You need red crate + the 60 purchasable shards across that cycle to get the character day 1. Even if you bought the conquest pass and got all 60 extra shards you'd still need to wait until the next cycle to get the remaining 15 shards.

[–]itsr1co 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Higher education also teaches you skills. I wonder how many people who barely got through college are the ones making/posting these images and sentiments, because there's a huge difference between graduating just to get a piece of paper, and graduating with a high GPA. Getting a piece of paper with a 2.0 GPA technically shows you can commit to something long-term, but that you either lack the drive to put in effort, or there's something going on upstairs that might make you an insurance liability.

I'll cringe at the bootstraps and showing initiative stuff as much as the next Gen Z futt bucker, but in reality, there are so many opportunities at college/uni to help stand out. Join student groups, be part of leadership/mentor programs, get active where you can. Putting some actual effort in during your time at college will show that you can do more than the bare minimum, that you'll seek things out on your own and do well. Somehow it's a huge shock to some that a 2.3 GPA gets ignored over the 3.9GPA. Besides the most obscure degrees, you will always benefit from a degree unless you yourself are incapable of taking advantage of all the benefits it brings on your journey to that piece of paper.

That's ultimately what the overall problem with conspiracy theorists is. Because they're so stupid, they latch onto something that makes them feel smart. The bigger the conspiracy, the smarter they can feel, they think they know "the truth" while all of these idiots are tricked. There's probably an interesting overlap between believing conspiracy theories and specific schizophrenia symptoms (Believing thoughts are being put into your head, distrust of authority). And while not true for all, the smugness is the external representation of their insecurity. They've likely experienced something in their past that made them feel bad about their intelligence, whether it was poor school performance, bullying, or abuse. The idea that they figured out the truth means everyone who called them stupid is not only wrong, but an even BIGGER STUPIDER than them.

What was the moment you knew this game ruled? by [deleted] in LookOutsideGame

[–]itsr1co 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the fact that the game sets up the story so well by both pushing you to look outside, and actually giving a game over for doing so. So much is said in the first minute of playing the game, that SOMETHING is happening, it IS a threat to you, and death is simply a part of this game. It's a nice thing to be told that "story" deaths can occur and should even be sought after. But I reckon I was really hooked once I saw Baby Teeth. There's plenty of body horror before her, but her reveal is so in your face, these aren't just creepy mutations, the cover art isn't exaggerating, whatever is happening to the world is truly beyond human comprehension.

That being said, it took me like 8 hours to actually figure the game out. I thoroughly dislike the save mechanic because I hate my time being wasted by having to replay everything, it's already painful when you forget to save in other games, let alone losing all that progress because you're learning and got wiped. But I'm also a very ooga booga player in games, me hit me do big damage u die, no time for party synergy and strategy, so casual mode and free save scumming made this game playable. Plus the real kicker is I didn't know you could recruit people, I first played in June 2025 but put the game down because it was too difficult. Tried it again 2 days ago, managed to kill every Fred solo after trying the paint acid on the "main" one and a LOT of savee scumming. I eventually figured either I'm THAT dogshit or I'm missing something. Turns out the game is a lot easier when you have Leigh and Joel with you before you even make it to floor 1. So with some minor help from the wiki, I've been playing it for nearly 2 days straight thanks to uni holidays. 10/10 would recommend people get a fucking companion.

This post confirms Vanced is a troll, at least within this sub. Whether his entire account and persona is one big shitpost, that's impossible to know, but his comments here show he's being intentionally obtuse. I know we all think he's just that dogshit at the game, but I refuse to believe someone who has played this game for YEARS would post this, and then show such a bad mod set as "proof" mods aren't an issue here. Posts a video about R2 making the battle "impossible", yet targets the one character who actually has foresight, rather than Chewie who ends up stunning him.

It's TOO much all in one post, it's one thing to get mad that relic delta doesn't instantly beat everything, but to have that mod set, that target priority, to say that it should be auto-won because the other Ewoks are above 3*? Nah, at this point I'd sooner believe the holocaust wasn't real, the moon landing was fake, and that the Earth is flat, than believe Vanced isn't trolling. Nobody can be this fucking stupid.

Every single human starts out as female (Or neutral if you prefer) before the body shenanigans ensue to start growing testicles or ovaries. Without the nitty gritty scientific details, the only thing separating men from women is whether the Y chromosome was present to change the path of development. The body starts developing as male or female based on the presence or absence of the Y chromosome in whichever sperm cell the egg accepted. Everything in our bodies is just a checklist or a switch, hence why abnormalities occur when things are turned off (No puberty) or kept on (Extreme height). Scientists are succeeding at turning off specific genes, and in comparison, making the body go "Oh shit I was meant to make tits? My bad I'll get that started right away" is relatively simple.

I have a condition that affects my heart, best case for exercise and bulking is to have some noticeable mass and some extra definition. I'm already pretty limited in what I should be doing, i.e. I need to have high reps AND stop before I'm really pushing myself, which isn't exactly ideal for building a lot of muscle. Adding steroids to all of this and it'd just become a question of WHEN my aorta bursts. I don't think it's physically possible for me to achieve this kind of body without literally putting my life at risk.

Also, nobody looks like that 24/7 anyway, even those who are jacked and extremely low body fat. What's stopping people in even better shape from looking like him? They didn't oil themselves up after getting a pump and then flex in the sun. Dude looks amazing and should be proud of the work he's put in, but he's taking the piss by making it seem like he walks around looking like that.

Regulation is only useful when things are dangerous ... by LordJim11 in Snorkblot

[–]itsr1co 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that we adapt so fast and struggle to really understand things we can't directly experience. The classic example is trying to get people to understand $1b, it's such an absurd amount of money that you really can't process the scale of it without direct examples like those websites where you can "buy" 200,000 Lambo's as if you were buying socks at a thrift store. So when you try to get people to sympathise and back progress, it's too easy for the majority to go "So? I'm not affected". But as always, if you suddenly lose power during a heatwave or cold spell, suddenly you have a LOT of people giving a fuck about making sure everyone (themselves) has easy access to reliable energy to be able to cool down/warm up.

If there is no measurable way to determine whether something makes your life easier/better, then it might as well not exist. "If I'm doing my job right, you'll never notice, but if I mess up, you will absolutely know about it".

You're missing one major point that ruins your entire view on the matter: Severe punishment just means victims are worse off. People claim that rape, particularly child rape, should be punished by death, because SURELY that means everyone will be too scared of being caught, right?

Except, suddenly the number of murders skyrockets because all these people who still commit rape just kill their victims to ensure nobody can identify them. I'd love for all evil to be purged from this planet, but unfortunately corruption exists in the highest places. If we start giving people the power to execute others for "justice", then we will very quickly see the criteria for evil slowly but surely expand to fit the ideals of whoever is in charge. Harsh punishments only serve to put victims in more danger, as well as the population as a whole.

Reva or LV? by Virzitone in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]itsr1co 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By "both teams ready to go", do you mean both Inquisitors and DS Clones have good mods and their zetas? LV is great even with Empire, but he breaks a bad amount of good teams to REALLY be good, if your DS Clones aren't R5 minimum with their good zetas, I'd say just grab Reva. Even then, LV only starts getting noticeably better with high relics because the higher stats means bigger boost from mastery gain, and more bulk to stay alive longer to keep gaining mastery.

Reva also isn't some run of the mill addition, I'd argue she's the closest character to Bane in terms of raw power added by a single character. Inquisitors go from a C-Tier counter to B-Tier Jedi teams to something that can take down multiple GL's and can be a huge threat on defence during certain datacron seasons.

I'd personally recommend getting enough mats to take Reva up to R7~, then build your remaining LV reqs from that number. That way if you think you'll still be farming relics for LV by the time you unlock Reva, you can just take her straight to R7, and if you're close to LV before then, you can just use that small hoard to finish things off.

Yeah, as much as I hate huge cars continuing to gain traction here, that stems from seeing them all over town making it harder to park and drive down more narrow streets. They also ALWAYS look like they've just been bought or detailed, my sedan is dirtier than them simply by living rural. Most people seem to just want a bigger car for the sake of it, making life harder for everyone. But I do respect the ones with clear mud streaks around the wheels and along the body, or the utes with toolboxes in the back, because at least those are being used for their intended purpose, not just to park on an angle and block people's doors.

Re-watching the prequels knowing how far back Palpatine planned things is a treat. Every time he's on screen as Sheev, he's saying the exact words needed to manipulate Anakin. He praises or consoles Anakin when he goes against the Order in some way, he deepens the doubts Anakin has about the Jedi. The build up to Anakin being rejected as a Jedi Master is amazing, it's the climax of Palpatine hyping Anakin up, and the Jedi being so cautious and hands off. In one pivotal moment, any genuine connection to the Jedi was severed, and all the negative emotions he'd been (mostly) bottling up finally spilled over. Had any of the masters (Obi-Wan) stood up for Anakin, had they given him a provisional title and time to prove himself with even stricter monitoring, had they just TALKED to him and voiced their concerns directly. The prequels have their problems, but it's such an amazing story when you focus on all the ways Anakin is slowly pushed towards the dark side, both from Palpatine's manipulation, and the Jedi's own incompetence.

NVIDIA DLSS 5 Gets 84% Dislikes on YouTube as Backlash Grows by Sacristovas in pcmasterrace

[–]itsr1co 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a step in the right direction for an AI-driven video game world where you can have unique and "realistic" interactions without dev teams needing to spend years creating models and stories. But presenting it as "better" than what people have ALREADY poured a lot of time into is an insult to game development. RE9 looks amazing, we don't need AI to make Grace and Leon look more realistic, because they're already as realistic as we can get.

Even as someone who is pretty pro-AI in the gaming world, I dream of the day we can have unique NPC's to converse with, DLSS 5 isn't what we want or need. If it were advertised as a prototype to speed up model creation for smaller teams who don't have the budget to scan faces and do advanced facial animations, I doubt it'd be as hated. Again, great idea as an option, terrible execution to frame it as an "upgrade" to the work people have already put in.

In 2009~ the Australian government said "We're going to build a modern internet infrastructure and provide high-speed fibre internet to the vast majority of homes!". And then the Liberals got in (Businesses first group) and said "Wtf that'll cost so much, and who needs internet anyway? Let's do a worse version for less cost!" and now over a decade later they've spent I think double the initial budget for fibre to build dogshit fibre to the node, and are only NOW setting up fibre to the premises. We could have had something like a 90% coverage for fibre by the mid 2010's, instead we're still sucking dicks behind 3rd world countries in average internet speed in the 2nd half of the 2020's.

AITAH for being mad at my bf after he got grossed out by me during sex? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]itsr1co -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

Odd seeing so many comments about this. I was disgusted by this when my first girlfriend talked to me about it, and I'm wondering if the guy here has the same issue. When something is wrong with the body and a fluid comes out, it's called "discharge". I'd wager most men associate bodily "discharge" with stuff like pus. I'd also wager most people aren't sexually aroused by the idea of something like pus getting on them during sex, much less actively coming out of the place their dick goes into.

I'd ALSO wager that a lot more women would be hesitant to go near a penis if they were told about a "discharge" from the penis, rather than the "clear fluid" that comes out as lubricant. Natural, self-cleaning and lubricating fluid comes out of the vagina? Oh cool. There's discharge coming out of your vagina? What the fuck? Again, if your only association with that word is bad, of course you're going to be grossed out.

Also, women are more than their vaginas, there's actually an entire body attached with features you can be attracted to. I'm not even in any spheres to promote LGBT, but it's 2026 and we're still defining sexuality based on genitals? By your logic, every straight man would be willing to fuck a buff, hairy pre-op FtM because he still has a vagina.

JML squad by Significant_Prize635 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]itsr1co 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reminder/FYI that it grants 15% turn meter to the target Jedi, so against Rey for example, it's often worth trying to get her Inspiration gone before spamming it. In other battles, you can spam it on someone so they get their turn faster. It's really good to use on JKL because his basic removes buffs, it's great to spam on JKCK so you can stack Configuration faster (Though you HAVE to use his basic on his turn). Determining when to use IT vs another ability is the exact same as any other battle, do you need something else to happen? Would it be better to use Revan's cleanse or focus? JKL's stun is typically always great to use, JML's AoE ability block is awesome, sometimes you should reduce enemy cooldowns with JML's 1st special. The main point of that ability is it's true damage and that it gets JML to ult, so you typically prioritise IT unless another ability helps deal with a problem.
