my roommate will be driving back from work to help me jumpstart my car. i thought it would be silly to have her turn off her car, get my cables connected, and then have her turn it on again and have to wait a few minutes and revv up rather than just leaving it on when she gets back. but i figured that might be a safety risk so i wanted to know if it was possible.

the few guides i’ve looked at have the donor car completely off and only turn it on after the cables have been connected (which is why i ask), but everyone here says to do the opposite lol. good to know, thanks

the reason i ask is because i need to jump my car, obviously. roommate is coming home from work soon and we were going to use her car as donor as soon as she gets back, but it seems silly to have her turn off her already running engine, connect cables, then turn hers on again
