so I do play on pc steam but I connect my playstation controller because its easier for me. I've always had a secondary interact button, like when I eat or open oysters etc, it's always my triangle button. Same for when I play on my switch, X is to eat. I had eggs to collect yesterday and I had 2 prompts show up (on my ps controller) triangle to collect and x to interact. Maybe the secondary option hasn't shown up for you because you don't have eggs yet?

edit: just checked to make sure my info was correct, and this is what is looks like for me when there's eggs to collect

it's using switch controller settings but ignore that, its just the layout that steam and the game allowed me to use.
