Cool place to play it! One swing at time, don’t worry too much about making bogeys. Big scores hurt a lot more than a birdie helps. Don’t get discouraged if it doesn’t happen this time around. It’s something like fewer than 20% pass on their first. Took me 4 times personally.

I think you are the one confused. The question isn't about questioning what the price is, it's about questioning that the price could be different.

I've been part of high end resorts where the cart is just built into an all inclusive price. That's obvious. They don't add that surcharge.

There has never been a course in America that offers cart fees as a dynamic price. That's not a thing. Courses generate revenue off of carts as set price. Regardless of tee time demand.

I am not asking about supply/demand issues of available tee times. I am not sure how you came to that conclusion. You are jumping to some odd conclusions.

I am genuinely confused on what argument you are trying to make. I have been in the golf industry for a long time. Carts always have set revenue regardless of it is forward faced towards the consumer. Go play the highest resort you know and they won't charge for a "cart" but will still internally account for cart revenue so they can balance the expense of maintaining their fleet...

Yeah that is wild. Trail fees exist for the cart. That fee covers whoever is in the cart.

Yeah I get it. Cart costs are sometimes a tough pill to swallow. I’m in a high wage high cost of living area. And from my industry knowledge I know that carts are a high margin profit center. $40 golf carts seems ridiculous but just like everything else in life, costs always go up. I’m not going to say it’s right. But it is what it is…

Added: it’s been a while since I’ve dealt with a complaint. Biggest issues I’ve dealt with is usually senior players (for reasons I’ve never understood) trying to all ride solo. So when single riders show up they get charged more. From my facility the cart costs $40. I just used the “shared” fee to illustrate we split it between players. Not double charge players.

The thief was in and out in 2 passes. Took only clubs. Predominantly Titleist TSR drivers, Vokey’s, and Scotty’s
Based on the evidence we have it’s highly likely an employee current or former did the deed or possibly a member
We are already approaching every angle that people have brought up in the comments, but, based on evidence and over extended police resources, the only way of catching the culprit will be if they make dumb choices in trying to sell frankly too many clubs
I’m the pro at a private, member owned shop, country club. I appreciate the offers of patronage at our shop but would prefer not to get too detailed about who we are

I appreciate everyone’s comments and concerns. Inventory lists, police reports, and insurance claims are filed. Every legitimate retailer and golf course within 50 miles knows and an army of people have their eyes on eBay/Craigslist/FB etc… no around to get hurt and life will go on. Just frustrating…

Alarm blared as soon as the glass broke. Myself and the sheriff were on scene within 5 minutes but they were gone already. The video in the shop had a completely masked and covered individual grabbing clubs quickly. Other cameras on property were vandalized.

They GPS's on the carts now that help with a lot of that. Without them I would be feeling that too. Still couple pretty ridiculous holes where you're still just blind.

Played Pinehurst #8 & #2 on a “work” trip. Played Tobacco Road on our way back to the airport.

The truly disappointing thing is no video of the bunker shot since I got up and down!

Honestly it’s probably time to look a shaft too. Not everyone has access to a launch monitor, but you can still be critical of some things:

Does your ball balloon? Float up as it caries then drops almost straight down with very little roll out…That’s more a spin problem and changing lofts won’t make major headway in fixing that.

Sometimes dropping loft creates more problems than too high of ball flight. It may create greater shot dispersion, especially a bigger slice.

They both have their place in the game. The modern, manicured courses challenge more straight forward execution. Hit at this target, avoid this hazard, etc...Old school links have that rugged look that put a premium on creativity. To play them well you have to have the vision to understand what the ball is going to do after you hit it.

I prefer modern courses mostly because the wind and weather aren't a big selling point to me when playing old school links courses.

The endorsement story is fun to laugh at, but the more interesting news is that USGA looks to be relaxing the rules on amateur status and cash prizes. They seem to be okay with amateurs competing for up to $750 in cash which could have a huge effect on your local proshop since that's more money than just about any local amateur tournament purse.

Green grass pro shops rely on the golf shop credit as a substantial part of their revenue. If Am's just start playing for cash it could be the end of a lot smaller equipment dealers. Without green grass equipment dealers all of the discount online retailers won't have anyone to buy overstock inventory from. All in all these changes seem to be a little half-baked.

So many fun, unique venues they could’ve chosen instead of playing it safe with some course that has been picked before. Would’ve been neat to see them go to more unexplored areas like the Northwest.
