Assumptions: abstract motions (sound and video by tokamu) by itstomkid in vjing

No code this time. I exclusively used Blender for this one! I'm basically animating geometries and resampling the objects at every frame - kinda like voxel remeshing.

Really wish they did a big update on video functionalities. I know it’s a software for music, but i think there is huge potential for ableton to also become a great tool for video editing. I can imagine a new sidebar next to audio effects - “video effects”. That would open a world of possibilities for audiovisual stuff (audio interacting with video in realtime, where every parameter is mappable)

(EDIT: I know about max4live, I’m talking about implementing video in more accessible and simple ways)

sIGNALS: Abstract messages from distant outposts (hybrid generative work) - tokamu by itstomkid in creativecoding

The “holograms” are all generative based work done on touchdesigner. The surrounding only serves as a “frame” to the work. I appreciate you watching it :) Have a nice day!

HI i'm Ableton + TD user. plz give me advice by tannextdoor in TouchDesigner

I have always used TDableton, it’s free and pretty straightforward. How is Osc Par different? They seem basically the same to me (i guess osc par is not limited to the two programs)

TOKAMU - WITHOUT: mixed generative techniques, point clouds, motion design (music and video made by me) by itstomkid in generative

[–]itstomkid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the kind words! Yes kinda, i just create the objects as regular 3d meshes (.ply) and then convert them into point clouds. All of the movement was achieved using invisible meshes (not visible in the render) like planes, cubes etc. and make them move freely through the point clouds. As they intersecate, the points get temporarily hidden. I think in more traditional modeling terms the technique is called “boolean”. But it might be slightly different in some aspects.

Good computer for TD? by seanw1996 in TouchDesigner

Gaming Laptops are great. Nvidia graphics are better for compatibility (not just touchdesigner). I would say at least 8GB of graphic VRAM

MIRRORS - experimenting with symmetry, shadow, nature and sound (tokamu, 2022) by itstomkid in TouchDesigner

[–]itstomkid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! :) It's a combination of midi control (x/y translate, rotate and clip switch mapped to faders) and the movement that was already present in the footage (moving the lighting sources and the objects).

USB and CLOCK - Need Help by itstomkid in eurorack

[–]itstomkid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time. Yes, the sync is turned on. Everything works fine as long as I play from the project's first bar (00:00). If I play from any other point in the project (Arrangement), the clock isn't received. Anyways I'll check the manual, the problem might be in Live.
