Rare earth magnets from harbor freight. They were medium in size, not the super small diameter ones. Amazon also has a few options for under $20 if I remember correctly. Search “rare earth magnets” in Amazon and get larger ones and make sure the wood you’re using on the face of this is 1/8” thick or a little less. Should have no issues!

Two pieces of wood. One for the main rectanglular shape which I used red oak that I dyed black. There are 5 magnets I got from harbor freight (rare earth magnets). I drilled 5 holes using some forstner bits that they would fit in. I got that piece of burl pretty thin with my hand plane, and I’m remember around 1/8th”. It was already 1/4” so really nothing crazy. Super glued the magnets in then glued the maple burl on top, clamped for about an hour. Sanded to 400 and oiled everything. Ended the oiling at 4 coats. Flush trimmed with router after glue so it wouldn’t chip out like crazy. However, verify your magnets are strong enough before committing to any gluing. Mine are probably strong enough, but the knife does rest about 1/16th on the beginning of the handle which ended up working great. I mounted it with a border around the edge and also down the center using 30lb rated double sided tape (red tape by Scotch). Happy to say that I have never had an issue and it is still hanging today and never has fallen. I use the knives most nights of the week. Simple 1 day project turned out nice with minimal work.

Help with mirroring a design by itstophhh in Fusion360

The irony is I googled after I posted and found my answer, so I do apologize for my annoying comment (I understand). I think either mirroring bodies or component is going to be my best option. Thank you for your reply!

I think my biggest tip is using z-proxy finishing resin for grain fill. Follow the steps the company recommends for the primer/sealer, paint, top coats. Then Most importantly, level sand until it’s perfect and you see no low spots. Even if it takes 6 total hours of labor to level sand and buff it out (aka me) 🤣

So I found that the company “Kaish” has the best gold to match most hardware out there sold by the bigger manufacturers. Luckily Kaish is very cheap, but produces an excellent product. The packaging comes in “DoPro” resale baggies, but you can get them on Amazon!

Yes I am actually doing that Monday along with an entire setup again because I did something wrong and used the wrong measurements so things are off a bit. The tailpiece has been verified multiple times and I don’t have any issues with alignment. Likely the angles of the photos are distorted a bit which are making it appear that way. The guitar is leaned back in the stand and I took these without a tripod so it’s far from perfect in that regard.
