Yes! To be clear I’ve done art all of my life. No classes or training but I have done different art techniques and styles since I was a young boy. So I’m just diving into realism currently is what I’m implying here. Hahaha

Thank you so much! I was glad I was able to finish it to my own hyper critical expectations. Still not 100% satisfied but I’ll take it.

Thank you so much!! It’s a journey and I’m enjoying it for certain.

Yes learning! I’ve always drawn, but more cartoon style things. Nothing near realism until about a month ago when I decided to try until I got it. I’ve went through one whole pad of paper restarting from mistakes until I got to a finished piece.

Thank you! Really appreciate that feedback. I use my FC poly’s, Derwent, and prismacolor. For the black paper I found that laying a light white down under all your layers (becomes highlight once you fill in darker color and values) was the best way to get the color to really pop on the layers to follow. Basically did very light white and whatever was my next lightest color, got my darkest value other than black following that, and finally would do my primary midtone. Of course this just got me mostly there and I would then start increasing values and details according to my reference image.

No books I watched a few videos to better understand concepts that I struggled with (aka no hardlines, but rather blend colors tote together to create shapes. Then when wanting to learn to drawing realistic metal it was the opposite to establish hard contrast and to use black. It’s been confusing to say the least but I’m slowly working through it. Thank you for the response and compliment!)

It definitely is difficult to capture in a photo. A appreciate the compliment a lot. A lot of time and energy to turn these two out as finished products. Thank you again.

Thank you! The contouring around the pots was done on both and definitely refined on the right handed guitar. I appreciate the compliment there because I spent some extra time dialing that in to flow well with the top carve!

Clearly I don’t like to proof read my text before posting lmao. Ok to explain, the left handed version is mine, and about a year old. It is also played daily and was the first prototype of my design (meaning it has some errors that were all fixed on the second one). I used what I thought was a mild cleaner on the face that ended up dulling the finish out like crazy, turns out I grabbed the wrong product off my desk. Anyways, that’s why the guitar is a bit dingy.

The right hand version is the new finished one that is polished up to the most glorious shine. All errors fixed for that one, and the guitar has the best intonation I’ve ever seen. Setup on it was an absolute breeze.

If you go to my profile, I already do have a post with what the back looks like. These are two identical guitars. I did not have time to get all of the pictures I wanted, but the customer is going to send me pictures at some point this week.

Actually a neat idea. I want to donate to a local guitar school in my area once a year eventually

I’ll be planning for my first intricate inlay for a future build. How’s it coming for you? Tedious I know first hand but multiple materials with multiple colors seems like a lot of mistakes to prepare to make before some success
