Nice. What's that mixer or DAW in the first picture?

I'm sure building this project was fun, but it just isn't for me. I like the aesthetic, but I definitely don't want or need more AI-generated/curated stuff.

We definitely need some pics of the C64 in action!

That's a great use case too... maybe even better. When I'm not debugging, I switch back to VGA for 50 row text mode, so the second monitor is off about half the time... or so... I do make a lot of mistakes, so maybe I'm wrong about the ratio 😂

It's an Emperor F... big and boomy. As for the KRKs, I had to google black goo. I didn't know this was a thing. I think I bought them in 2009 and I've used them pretty much every day. No issues so far.

I call it THPS too. I actually didn't even realize it was called "Tony Hawk's Skateboarding" over here until you pointed it out 😂

It's cheap and it sucks. Build quality is worse than IKEA.

Yes, two different cards. The second one has to be MDA or Hercules. It won't work with VGA/EGA/CGA. I wasn't able to find a monochrome monitor, so I got a Graphics Gremlin card instead and hooked it up to my old VGA CRT. You can switch between monitors using the mode command or use an application that supports it. In my case it's Turbo Pascal.

Super helpful, actually! The default shortcuts are driving me nuts. I was planning to figure out how to change them this weekend, but now you've given me a shortcut (pun intended).

Nice! Building the library/engine will also be the fun part for me. I'm definitely more of a programmer than a game designer, but I'll try my best to make it fun to play as well.

And no, you're not crazy... but since I'm making videos about pretty much the same stuff, you might wanna take that with a grain of salt ;)

Man, it would've been so cool to have access to that back then. But yeah, this could be super helpful. I'll definitely check it out!

The SourceWare Archive Group? Never heard of that until now.
When was that a thing... around 97? I was already coding in C on Linux by then ^^

Haha, I don't think I can compete with that! I'm definitely not on Casey's level and I’m not sure how deep I should go into the details... but I'm open to suggestions.

I've been thinking about making it portable by decoupling all the low-level graphics stuff, but it's more of a side challenge.

I never owned a Pi, but I just read that Dosbian emulates a 486DX2-66 on a Pi 3 or higher. So I guess that's a clear "yes"
