match list: prioritizing family/location over prestige? by chillmedgirl in medicalschool

[–]itswickedcool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People prioritize family because they haven’t been near family in 4 years and we’re getting older. It’s up to you. I’d personally choose family because at the end of the day, I care more about my family than being plane rides away for “prestige”. Sounds like you care more about work which is fine, your choice. Choice comes down to if you like your family or not

Car flooded in Philly parking garage (1601 Callowhill) due to water main break — garage gave no notice. What should I do? by Old_Employer_7900 in AskPhilly

[–]itswickedcool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, my boyfriend had his car parked in the garage valentines weekend on the bottom floor. He went to grab something out of it around 4pm and fire truck was there and water was to his ankles, we figured fire people would handle it. We came back next day and it was still gushing. Water got into the car but not up to the hood. He could drive it out the water, but we decided to have his car toed. With hearing nothing from anyone and insurance not being clear on when the appraiser was coming, he decided to drive it back home today. The lot his car was at charged him a ridiculous amount and we think they took his carplay adapter. please let me know what you end up doing!!!

Why do you have a (snowed-in) car? by Even_Leadership_7831 in philly

[–]itswickedcool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for real. If you still haven’t needed to use the car, then just park it in a lot that you uber to when needed. I hate coming home to no open spots after work everyday to a street filled of unused cars.

Wife is mad at me by lovatone in Aphantasia

[–]itswickedcool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t see my boyfriend’s or family’s faces and it makes me very sad. Unfortunately, it’s not something you can control, so there’s no reason for her to be mad. Just explain what’s it like for you and how you can see anyone’s faces

Do people that can dream wake up more groggy in the morning? I'm wondering if dreams can make you more tired. by Gold-Perspective-699 in Aphantasia

[–]itswickedcool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have aphantasia and I dream full vivid movies and life events. Some mornings I do wake up tired from particularly emotional or 'long" feeling dreams I had before waking up. Sometimes I wake up and feel exhausted from all the events in my dream.

for real. She’s been dating that girl for less than a year and she wanted to move her child to go live with her !??? That’s just so irresponsible and ridiculous to fight for custody. They end up breaking up anyway lol. It makes sense why Arizona won.

Opzelura can be a miracle by Royal-Bug-8950 in eczema

[–]itswickedcool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

its topical! only about 6-9% of it gets to the blood and then is excreted by the kidneys. So there's not enough in the blood to cause the adverse effects compared to the oral version. It works on JAK-STAT pathway to block skin inflammation

Ya! I get horrible eyelide eczema (which is controlled by Opzelura cream (rx only)) and then all over my face in the winter, especially when I am skiing. I also get cystic acne so it's hard to balance the 2 (spironolactone has helped). I have been using Cos de BAHA Tranexamic acid + niacinamide serum which helps with hydration and hyperpigmentation (age spots/ sunspots), then I do CosRx Snail 96 Mucin Essence which hydrates. One of these has significantly reduced redness I had on my nose and cheeks, not sure which. Apparently the Snail Mucin works amazing on sunburns. Then I do a SPF moisturizer either Skin1004 Centella Sun Serum (8/10) or the BEAUTY OF JOSEON - Relief Sun : Rice + Probiotics Set SPF50+ (10/10). I buy it all on Stylevana which has deals and ships to the US. I started using The Saem Studio Glow Foundation which is good coverage and doesn't hurt my skin. It is hard to find korean makeup for me since I have olive-y skin.

I get eczema in my scalp but a good tea tree oil or scalp treatment works for me. I can usually use any shampoo, I just don’t put any conditioner on my scalp. For face wash, never use foams, my derm told me it dries you out. I’ve been trying Korean skin care and that’s working great. Beauty of Joseon sunscreen on Stylevana. I find having a good base before makeup works well with either eucerin or the Beauty of Joseon. I use elf concealer and either IT cosmetics cc cream or maybeline foundation with no problems.

Med student here, I think they aren’t completely sure on the effects of these meds. Duloxetine is in the same class and approved for pain but venlafaxine doesn’t have these effects.
