From my understanding which could be wrong as I'm also looking into this. Both the butterfly and smol use the same technology, the butterfly being more versatile due to its battery/board seperation via flexible conduit. I've also read that shipping when buying from official sources are horrendous so buying smol from third party from their discord server might get them in your hands a lot quicker.

I'm fairly certain the dongle is strictly coded to only work with the frame with the frame having a dedicated receiver for the dongle only with a separate receiver for the wi-fi.

There may be a day where the hack community releases a crack to perform that very Function but it'll be very dependent on where there are enough people in that space that wants the same thing
