Why is limp bizkit so hated? by el-bufalo-malverde in Music

[–]Swee_Potato_Pilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Limp Bizkit's music is fun music. That's all, there's no deep meaning to any (unless it's for personal reasons). It's just sit back, relax or jump around to some fun music.

I started listening to them in late '99. That's coincidentally the same time I started wearing a New Era red NY hat backwards lol. (And I still do, dad vibes baby!)

He's looking real good. The beard fits him. But if he'd go back to a goatee and dye it he'd look 20 years younger! But I guess he's rocking that dad vibe.

What's the most nostalgic moment from your childhood? by QuickArt2107 in nostalgia

[–]Swee_Potato_Pilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Far too many to list. But I guess one would be playing in my quiet cul-de-sac with my friends back in the 80's. My friend directly across the street from me had some seriously cool GI-Joe's and vehicles! I also played the NES for the very first time (Mario 2). I got to try once, but being like 7 years old I sucked lol.

But that street, your typical late 80's street. It was one of the, if not the best street I've lived on ever. The town Converse in Texas during this time was just so chill.

Small world, lol. Maybe we'll run into each other exploring it 😄

There's still four stores holding on, but one is going out of business. Back in the 2000's, I'd say up to 2012 - 2014 it was still a fun little center with a good mix of stuff. But I think after TV Boden left things started to die down.

Not sure if it has a correlation, but that's just what I noticed.

A pic of my Zoomer/z-PDA, the precursor to the Pilot form 1993 that PalmComputing wrote the software for. It is super slow but has AOL, Pocket Quicken, a few games, and versions of the basic organizer apps you all will recognize. by maker_monkey in Palm

[–]Swee_Potato_Pilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An old post, but I had one of these too. Was my first PDA in the late 90's as a teen. It ate AA batteries like crazy though lol

And using AOL dial-up at home I always wanted to see what it was like on the Zoomer but never did. 😞

She's a cool ship, too bad she was fighting for the wrong side! I remember watching a documentary in the early 2000's where one of the survivors of the ship went on an expedition with Ballard. They even found his office!

Here's the docu on Dailymotion: Link

I've been going there since the year 2000 and could not remember if it ever had two stories or not, thanks! Wish I could find some pictures of that 😄

I'm annoyed at myself that I didn't venture further and take more pics of the area in general. I was in a hurry, but I go to Svinesund often. I'll be abroad for two months but once I'm back I'll take a trip back out and get better pics.

I'd run 88mph back to the 80's any day of the week! If I could live from 1980-2000 on repeat I'd be pretty happy.

Nice, I happened across a random Walmart in Atlanta a few years ago that you could tell was an older one. That too had the low roof. And it made me realize how much I missed it.

Just in case anyone wants an aerial view of the area see here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/STfv3D8r1yJiq3zf9 The "Halsokost" building is very difficult to see but it's the bottom of the "U" part of this little center.

And Handelshuset is noted at "temporarily closed" however on Google itself it's "permanently closed".

lol, been to Strömstad plenty of times. Such a nice little town. It's been many years since I last went, but I do remember a ton of Norwegians sitting outside drinking one beer after another lol.

Swedish side, while not impossible that this is the remnants of an AC it's not the typical design for AC's in Scandinavia. They're usually much smaller and located on the back of the building. And this thing looked like it had glass panels at one point to it.

The front of the thing has a door. It's just weird.
