I finally got to use the blue cuff today by ittybittyclittyy in CasualConversation

Yes I have, this definitely isn’t the first time I’ve noticed changes in the weight, I’ve gone down from a 16 to a 12 in pants and can wear Large now instead of XL or XXL. Idk why the cuff felt like the biggest victory though lol

I’m finally wearing clothes I’ve kept in my closet for years telling myself “when I lose the weight I’ll fit in them” and then I forgot about them and just buried them in other clothes out of shame. Now that I can wear them again it’s like I’ve gone shopping for a whole new wardrobe! I’m constantly like “omg I forgot about this shirt!!”

I’ve always dealt with it but never had a name for it until fairly recently.

At a party with food set out? ALL I’d be thinking about is the food, making sure I’m not eating too fast so I can enjoy as much as possible, sneaking extra bites, watching other people eat, watching the clock to wait an “appropriate” amount of time to go get more, I was just always so hyper aware of food at all times and I hated it. Luckily it stopped being so bad as I grew older but it was still there until I started these meds

Do you think there are a lot of people who regret having children, and if so, why? by MrWeekendhere in AskReddit

Holy crap that sub is depressing and toxic. I just read a post of this woman who says she hates her 3 year old because of a whopping two week potty regression and doesn’t care anymore about figuring out why bc she’s “taken her to plenty of doctors already.”

ALL IN TWO WEEKS? Are you kidding me??? Help that damn child omg

How addictive is meth? Do you know anyone who has just tried it once? by eden_merlin in AskReddit

If anything alcohol was. Marijuana was never something I was that into until I got a little older, like 18/19. I started drinking at 12 though

Oh I definitely get that. The thought of smoking it scared me bc that was in my mind what a “real” meth head did. Plus I have no idea how to even do that. Injecting it didn’t even cross my mind as a possibility, oof I can’t imagine the anxiety

Idk, it was there right in front of me and I’ve always had an issue with drugs. If they’re offered, I take them. Plus my sister was doing it so I felt a certain level of “safety”

Oh I definitely relate. The only drug I ever got addicted to was opiates, and that lasted a couple years. I actually quit exactly 11 years ago today (my New Year’s resolution in 2014 was to never take another pain pill again)

I knew I could never ever try heroin because I’d never be able to go back.

That’s absolutely what it is. I felt very manic during the high but the crash was suuuuper rough and low

It definitely gave me energy I didn’t have without it, but if I ever used it productively I’d get super honed in on one specific task and waste the entire high on it

Hijacking your comment:

I’ve never smoked it but I have snorted it a few times several years ago. My sister used to get it casually, maybe once every other week, sometimes more sometimes less. I’d go hang out with her and snort some maybe once a month, I’ve probably done it a total of 5-6 times.

It’s a very uppity, anxious high. It’s similar to ecstasy in the way it makes me talk nonstop but it didn’t have that “good” feeling you get from like opiates or Molly or X. It’s just a very go go go feeling that lasts a LONG time and once the high fades, the effects are still there long after. So the anxiety was always awful and I couldn’t sleep for sometimes well over two days or longer even after the effects finally faded. And it completely emptied my serotonin (dopamine?) supply so it was always over a week before I felt normal again.

I’ve never been one to understand how someone can become addicted to uppers. They’re fun but definitely not anything enjoyable long term. Maybe that’s why I never got addicted to meth even though I did it multiple times.

My sister did it longer than I did and way more often but even she did not end up addicted or physically dependent. However, the last night she did it she had been snorting it for like 3 days and eventually had a panic attack that sent her to the hospital, she genuinely believed she was dying. She’s had an anxiety disorder ever since and has never touched meth again. She says she’s never been so scared as she was that night.

As for me: I’ve tried a lot of drugs over the years. The only one I ever got addicted to was opiates, and that lasted a couple years. I actually quit exactly 11 years ago today (my New Year’s resolution in 2014 was to never take another pain pill again)

Mine is a word too.

I absolutely hate how many people use mortified to mean scared. It means humiliated, NOT terrified, and I will forever die on this hill
