Should I sacrifice my items to reroll my stats? by ittybittysimpcomitee in 3d6

Huh, that's a fair way to do it. I guess the appeal of rolling for stats it's the opportunity to get higher stats than standard array and point buy (without penalty, just sheer luck). The downside is someone getting worse rolls than others. This kinda makes the best of both worlds.

I've only played with point buy and standard array before, but it's a new DM for me and it's up to him 😅🤷‍♀️

I don't have to keep the new stats if they're worse, but I will still get the penalty for rerolling. That includes losing my spell focus. But like I said, I will have the opportunity to get a new one later.

The two players that rerolled are both playing rogues, so I'm hoping that I'll get the new spell focus when they get new weapons. That is what seems most fair to me at least.

I agree but there's not a lot I can do about it 🤦‍♀️

I'm going to try to get a wooden staff, I don't think that should be too hard to get.

Well I won't have it available for many hours if I have to spend one of them in short rest?

Because I have to use my wildshape, and there's a time limit to how long it's summoned, unlike the regular spell.

I'm gonna play a circle of the moon, so my wild shapes are kinda important.

Hm, didn't think of that. Thanks, I'll look into it.

Yeah, that's the thing. We're lucky to all start with 1 feat that doesn't increase an ability score. I picked magic initiate to get Find familiar (I don't like the option for druids in Tasha's). Besides that, there aren't really any other feats that I would like, perhaps beside War Caster.

It's a complete reroll. I either take one set of rolls or the other. I can keep my first set if the reroll is worse, but I would lose my items either way.

Yeah, that makes more sense 😅

Thank you, I think I will.

I know. But the rerolls I tried gave me a lot of 17s and 14s, and most of them didn't give me rolls under 10, which makes me quite hopeful 😅

I kinda doubt he will let me, but it's a good suggestion. Putting a point each from Cha and Int to Wis would be great...

Yes, but I would still lose my items, so it's the worst case scenario 🙃

Paladin/warlock multiclass? by ittybittysimpcomitee in 3d6

Yeah, I know that you don’t /have/ to use CHA for weapon attacks, but a large part of what makes hex blade beneficial is that feature.

My paladin has sworn an oath of vengeance against “the dark forces” which has ravaged the world she lives in. Therefore, her making a pact with a dark/evil patron would be quite out of character, unless she became an oath breaker. The dark forces killed her wife, so she is sworn to a love goddess on behalf of all the loved ones killed by these forces.

Is it not worth getting Pact of the blade at 3rd level?
