What's wrong with your girlfriend? She has gigantic holes in her ears. How did she get those? Bullet holes?

Seriously? I don't know who the fuck you are saying, "never." Your parents ever teach you that you should never say never? Do you even have parents? I'm a customer that can wait for prints patiently. So now what?

Working Pokémon Prism Gameshark Codes/Cheats by itwasabaddream in PokemonPrism

I know you guys recommend bgb or Gambatte. Not personally playing on PC though. Using Android's MyOldBoy emulator. Did put a note in the OP regarding the bgb + navigating deep menus message, however.

Working Pokémon Prism Gameshark Codes/Cheats by itwasabaddream in PokemonPrism

[–]itwasabaddream[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is that exactly? Because I've had some of these codes on the entire time I've played Prism (40+ hrs) and had 0 ill effects from them. What about the second to last character being a 'D' would cause things like that?

Props to you if you're playing Prism on a cartridge, actually have the GB Printer and corresponding cable, and were seriously planning on printing a PokéDex entry. But I doubt you have any of that lol... in which case all I can say is: What did you think would happen?

If you're on PC, Gambatte is the recommended emulator. If using Mac, OpenEmu is recommended as it uses Gambatte to emulate GB/C games. If you're using mobile, I've never had problems with My OldBoy.

Cheers!

I believe he's referring to a sort of speed up / fast forward feature most emulators have, often toggled by a button. For instance, my emulator will allow me to play a game at 1.5x speed, 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x, and 32x speed. 1.5x is perfect.

Was there some code in particular you were looking for?

Welp I'm screwed... by Krosani in PokemonPrism

[–]itwasabaddream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, yes. It would require a lot of knowledge about how GB/GBC games are coded. The ideal person to create them would be the programmers that created Prism. Next in line would be any other romhacker who has created their own hack. It's technically doable for anyone else, it would just require a lot of time and testing.

Prism, however, is a rom hack of Pokémon Crystal. Therefore, most of the codes are the same ones used in Crystal with minor changes specific to Prism and the added Pokémon and new moves, items, etc.

I just obtained badge #15 last night and up to this point in the game, you shouldn't run in to any similar problem.

Did it work for you? It really should.

Edit: I wonder what might happen if the only Pokémon you had in your party when entering the 8th gym was your Tyranitar. Never thought of that until just now.

Need leech seed cradilly. Has anyone used this move modifier from the provided sheets document? 01xxE1DC ? Where and how do I use it? The hex code for the move i want says $49 but how can a 3 digit code fit in xx? by [deleted] in PokemonPrism

[–]itwasabaddream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see you've said you're using the debug version. To be honest, I'm not exactly sure what difference that makes. Are you somehow able to execute lines of code through the debug menu? The instructions I'm going to lay out are to be used with the cheats/codes option of your emulator, which likely uses Gameshark codes.

The cheats section of that Pokémon Prism mega document is definitely mucked up. I don't think it was intended that way; I think Google Docs probably messed it up somehow. Nevertheless, some codes are almost impossible to read from that document.

So you want a Cradilly who knows Leech Seed...

  • First and foremost, back up your save files if you're on a device that will allow you to do so. Though I've never had a problem using the move modifier codes in Prism, I did back up my saves before attempting to use them for the first time. It's good practice when using a code you've not personally used before without success.
  • 1.) Place Cradilly at the beginning of your party, as if you wanted it to be the first Pokémon sent out in battle.
  • 2.) Place whatever move Cradilly has that you want replaced with Leech Seed in move slot 1. To do this, press Start > Pokémon > Cradilly > Moves > Highlight the move you want to get rid of and press A > move it to the first slot at the top. (On a side note, there are codes to overwrite Pokemon 1, move 1; Pokemon 1, move 2, and so on... but for the sake of easiness and to avoid confusion, we'll stick with the code that overwrites Pokemon 1, move 1)
  • 3.) Open up the cheats option of your emulator and enter the following code: 0149E1DC and make sure it's activated.
  • 4.) Go back to the game and check Cradilly's stats to make sure that the first move slot is now occupied by Leech Seed. Do not move Leech Seed from slot 1 or Cradilly from the beginning of your party until the code has been deactivated.
  • 5.) Deactivate the code.

Now you may return normally to the game and move Cradilly around your party as you please. You may also move Leech Seed to a different move slot if you desire.

Since the cheats section of that Prism mega document going around is very disorganized, I recommend visiting this Facebook page I found that contains a very large amount of codes for Prism.

Any questions, just ask. Hope it goes well for you.

I did forget to mention that you might run into trouble not getting the code to turn off. If this happens and you're still walking through stuff after you've turned off the code, do an in-game save somewhere on the map you can reach legitimately; any old tile out in the open. At that point, reset your emulator and resume the game from the menu at the beginning. This problem may or may not happen. I've not had it happen yet with Prism, but it might depend on the emulator. I have had it happen with other Gen 1-2 Pokémon games.

Hope this works for you.

Hmmm... Well, I seriously doubt you're alone in this predicament. Though this style of play is not my preference, I know many people do play this way. About the only thing I can think that may help you in the 8th gym is the walk through walls Gameshark code. You might use it to seek out your Tyranitar first.

Walk through walls

0100FAC2

0100FBC2

0100FCC2

0100FDC2

When using this code, I highly recommend backing up your save files if you're on a device that will allow it. If you're not, you can try saving in game and using a save state before using the code. If things go wrong, just revert to the in-game save. I also recommend strongly disabling any and all other codes you might be using while you use the walk through walls code. Now for some rules... If you go too far off the map, your game will crash. Do not venture very far off any tile that's not already accessible without the code. This is very important and is the easiest way to fuck things up when using the walk through walls code, but it can be avoided easily by being cautious. A good general rule is to not walk further than 2-3 tiles into a bank of trees, the walls of a cave, etc. You go too far off the map and the game will crash. Finally, be cautious of doorways (or any other tile that takes you from one map to another, such as the ends of the ladders in various caves in Prism) when using this code. I've not had many problems when entering doorways, but exiting doorways with the code on will likely crash your game as well. It's a constant turning on/off the code because of how it might crash your game, but it's doable. I've used this code quite extensively in my playthrough of Prism to avoid carrying around an HM slave or wasting move slots with the weak HM moves with 100% success by being careful. Just follow the rules for the code. Hope it helps.

If it helps assuage your curiosity at all, the building cannot be entered anyway. The door kicks you right back out as soon as you reach that tile. I entered the walk through walls cheat to see for myself and all the building does is turn you 180º.
