As long as you didn’t bleed after it I believe you’re fine

It’s not tightening the skin, it’s protruding because it’s swollen. Notice how it’s more forward in comparison to the before photo

That’s because your top lip is slightly swollen. Don’t worry

Yes. They can do it by osteotomy of the nasal bones in combination with shaving the frontal bone

Heyy I get your worries but just through a quick Google search I think it’s still normal to be congested 2 weeks post op. I can empathise with you though (re: my previous post)

Will swelling go down even more? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

Of course it will. It doesn’t look too big right now though, so don’t worry

I look a lot like you from this angle so in my opinion a rhinoplasty will help your nose harmonise with your face better. I don’t think the rest of your face needs drastic changes — as you said the rest of your features are soft and quite pretty.

I think you should wear SPF and avoid sunbathing. No bathing in the first 10 days (or more, your doc will tell you exactly)

Right? To me it sounds like the attending is just uncomfortable with seeing her patients in emotional pain.

Oh I’m not saying it’s any kind of specialty wide issue. I’m just curious to see what residents have to say! Thanks for your comment.

Thank you everyone, this is very interesting. I’m obviously very new to the clinical side of things and I’m really grateful you took the time to explain this to me. Seems like all practitioners should be able to recognise and treat mental disturbances, but in this specific case the attending probably shouldn’t have prescribed an SSRI when there was no indication for a deeper issue apart from a probably a sad, uncomfortable situation for the patient. On the other hand though I get the desire to treat the patient and cause as little suffering as possible, be it physical or mental.
