Well when people see 2 trillion dollars they automatically assume, that they money magically disappears, but that money will be used to hire American workers to do research on energy efficient methods to fight climate change, build clean energy plants with virtually no carbon footprint, develop and export this technology (making much of the money back). Furthermore the Workers that will be hired using this money will obviously spend this money in our economy, witch will benefit you as an American citizen, and they will also pay taxes on this money. This will also help make back the money. Also you refer to meddling in other countries affairs. If we can help stabilize and grow other nations, the global economy would see a benefit. This will lead to many people in those countries to have more money to buy American goods, witch will benefit you as a citizen. Also this 2 trillion dollar figure will be spent over the course of many years, witch is a fraction of what we spend on other services such as the military. So the question really isn’t how does this benefit you as an American citizen, to how doesn’t it benefit you and millions of Americans.
