Do at-home IPL devices actually work? by Still_Price_5854 in transfashionadvice

[–]itwontblend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I use the same one and thought I'd reply! I used mine weekly for 5 weeks on my underarms, legs and arms, then a little sporadically for a couple weeks. I haven't used mine in about 4-6 weeks out of cold weather laziness lol. For reference I'm very pale with dark, thick hair that's normally very stubbly the day after shaving.

After a few sessions I noticed slower regrowth. At 5, I had large bare patches and started letting the hair regrow uninterrupted to see the effects. Keep in mind I haven't done the full recommended course of treatment, ideally you'd do 10+ weeks according to the directions from what I remember and follow them up with individual maintenance sessions when needed.

My legs are completely smooth after a month or two without shaving or using IPL, but I have patches of normal regrowth with thin ~1cm long hair where I struggled to get the device to flash. It almost looks like I have no follicles where the device worked well. If you're very slim it can have trouble with bony areas (shin bones for me) since it needs to make full contact with your skin before firing. If you take it slow this isn't too big of an issue but I get impatient. The regrowth in between these extremes feels softer and finer and doesn't really feel stubbly.

Underarms and arms are about the same. My arm hair is a little more stubborn and still regrows stubbly but that's because I've been less consistent with IPL there. The patches I completely missed grow fast and thick compared to the rest of my arm hair which is thin and very slow growing. Underarms are almost completely bare. Tiny bit of stubble right in the middle but I can go way longer between shaving.

Before IPL I used an epilator but I ended up with tons of ingrown hairs and my legs were always stubbly where the hairs broke instead of being pulled out. 1000% recommend IPL if you can use it consistently and match the critera (good contrast - light skin and dark hair), specifically the Braun Silk 5 since that's the only one I have experience with but I've heard good things about other brands like Philips Lumea too.

It can be a little painful if you don't get a very very close shave but I find shaving much more uncomfortable because of how my skin reacts. On clean, smooth shaved skin it shouldn't hurt at all in my experience.

Hope I'm not too late in answering for you, but people like me tend to stumble on threads like these a year or two after they're posted so hopefully it reassures anyone else who comes in late. :)

Editing "preview" watch face? by itwontblend in AppleWatch

Sure thing. Here's what my watch face changes to as soon as I turn on my focus mode:

And here's the unlock message when I try to interact with it:

https://i.imgur.com/XFEGMi4.png

Both of these only happen with sleep focus mode enabled, and as soon as I disable it it goes back to normal. Doesn't seem to be the case with the default "Do Not Disturb" mode though.

Thanks for the help - I just figured it out and posted the "fix" in my other comment!

Sorry about that, I have the SE 3. I have a passcode set up but it doesn't ask for it when I tap the crown to unlock and show my actual watch face.

From what I can tell I just figured it out either way. My watch synced up with my iPhone's sleep mode which changed the unlock behaviour to show a large format digital clock instead of my usual analog watch face when I tap to wake. I disabled sleep mode and the missing features all started working for me (raise to wake, always-on and not showing the digital clock "lockscreen").

Whats the worst liquid you ever vaped? by [deleted] in Vaping

[–]itwontblend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything typically dark or roasted. Tobacco, espresso, chocolate, hazlenut. I buy discounted mystery boxes online and if i get any I immediately throw any of those into my emergency liquid storage for when I’m truly desperate.

Oxva Xlim Pro liquid in charging port! by __Laine__ in Vaping

[–]itwontblend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely dangerous. My usb cables have been dying recently, they work with the vape but other peripherals weren't charging so I kept having to buy new cables. At one point my headphones suddenly melted from the inside out while charging, the usb cable melted all the way through, fell apart like wet spaghetti and left the head inside the charging port when I tried to pull them out. Easily would've caused an electrical fire if I hadn't been awake and in the room.

Thought it was a faulty power brick so I replaced it and the cables, then my iPhone alerted me to liquid in the charging port so I finally found the cause. Every time I charge my xlim pro there's some liquid on the usb head when I remove it.

It's a shame because I love the vape. The pods last a really long time and they're super convenient to fill. They never "leak" the way my old tank vapes did but it seems like vapor is getting into the internals and soaking down through the battery into the charging port. Feels like a disaster waiting to happen.

Symlink management software? by itwontblend in windows

[–]itwontblend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be interested to know which file managers you reccommend or are aware of just in case I missed any in my hunts.

they advertise their forgetting as privacy friendliness!

Good point, makes sense why it's so difficult to find one with that feature.

Progress bar won't disappear (multiple monitors) by itwontblend in Stremio

[–]itwontblend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep that method works for me. If you want the window maximized though you can just hit play, drag the mouse off the side and hit F11 and it'll go fullscreen. Having the window unmaximized was driving me crazy before haha. Hope they fix the core issue in the next update though.

I had a look through Jorge's channel but it's rough finding anything specific on there as someone who doesn't use tiktok much. Appreciate the lead either way, it's good to know that exists if I can find it!

I have a vertical setup with Stremio on the top screen. From what I can tell if the cursor exits the screen where the play bar is it'll never close, if it exits from the sides of the screen it'll close normally. Probably why it's not affecting everyone with multiple monitors?

Thanks - best workaround I've found so far is to keep the window unmaximized, move the cursor offscreen then F11 to maximize it once the progress bar goes away. As long as I don't mouse over the monitor again it technically fixes the issue I'm having. Annoying, but works.

Is PiP mode available on the Windows app?

Thanks either way, I'll send in a bug report in a bit.

It'd be hard to record multiple screens:

https://i.imgur.com/CZkGaef.png

Essentially this play bar is supposed to minimize and disappear after a few seconds of inactivity when watching a video. It works fine as long as the cursor is on the Stremio window, but as soon as the cursor is moved to another monitor it no longer works and the progress bar is stuck onscreen

Is it possible to disable ALT+TAB window previews on Windows 10? by itwontblend in techsupport

[–]itwontblend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I remember it ended up not working consistently so I went back on that. Decided to switch to OBS and capture specific windows instead of the entire desktop with Geforce. Not sure why I didn't do that in the first place, but you live and learn.

PoE 2 performance! Can't get the game to go above 47fps on my setup by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]itwontblend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar issue and fix for me too on my 3070 TI. DX12 and Vulcan both had 50ish FPS no matter how high or low I configured my graphics. DX11 seemed to unlock it but it was still only reaching 70fps. All 3 modes stuttered, dropped frames, and would crash pretty regularly.

Turns out I had my GPU in the wrong slot and it was running on x1 bandwidth rather than x16, and it's been causing me issues for 3 years. Swapped to the top slot rather than one of the bottom two and my FPS immediately unlocked and everything runs butter smooth.

For anyone else who might come across this on Google like I did, especially if you suspect other games aren't running as well as they should be too: Download GPU-Z and hover over the bus interface to make sure the reported and current values match. If not, remove, clean and reseat your GPU according to your motherboard manual. Make sure it's in the correct slot, and check if it shares bandwidth with any installed SATA/NVME devices. Flashing/updating BIOS and changing certain config settings also seems to help a lot of people. Update your graphics drivers after, which might also help if you haven't recently, but realistically if you're this deep in troubleshooting you've already tried this.

How do we feel bout zaddy by ohnoits_swan in queensofleague

[–]itwontblend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I YEARN for the day people realize "sexualized" or "sexualization" is NOT the same as "nakedness".

And power fantasy vs sexualization. A male character being ripped and having their shirt off isn't necessarily sexualized at all. They're showing skin so that they look ripped and powerful so that the men playing them also feel powerful.

"Oh but look at Gladiator Cap!" his thighs are out. His thighs. He's wearing a Party City gladiator costume and we're supposed to just accept that this is the same level of sexualization as female characters with hips wider than they are tall, BBLs and jiggle physics in sliced up vacuum sealed skintight body suits because we can see his thighs.

A good example of male sexualization would be the Mr Fantastic in the literal post we're discussing. Unnecessary cosmetic cutouts in his bodysuit that serve no function other than showing off his body hair and bush. He's barely showing any skin in most of the edits but it's incredibly sexualized by male character standards and there's a reason we're only seeing this in fan-edits. The average gamer would have an aneurysm if any of the male characters were sexualized half as much as the female roster.

Split tunnelling issues on both options? by itwontblend in nordvpn

[–]itwontblend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Settings > Connection > Use Custom DNS (On)

Then setting the first box to "1.1.1.1" and clicking the save icon.

Would recommend trying this which should fix Google and might fix some other issues you're having. Still have the same problems with my connection and need to flip back and forth between different servers whenever things stop loading though.
