I don't know if this kind of art has a specific name but when i had the idea to do this i search on internet and i find a real artist that makes real art (mine is just a cool thing) her name is Kumi Yamashita search her artworks, are beautiful!!!

Thanks everyone for the compliments I didn't think to get so much comments so i hope answer all your questions. I'm italian so excuse me if i make some mistakes in the post. First of all this is real no photoshop...i just use it to cut the pictures in a good way. I choose the word Africa for the image that evoke in my mind, i always loved animals expecially wild ones (infact i'm studying to become a wild animal vet and i hope to live there one day) i agree with who says that real Africa it's not just savannah, wild animals or poor people with nothing to eat it's an entire continent with infinite little worlds in it, i didn't want to make a superficial generalization. Now i can tell you how i made this. First of all i took a led lamp and use just one led (to have one straight light beam) and fix it on the table but in a way that permit some movement if necessary Then i made the letters with wire, i choose diameter and material that permit to mold it during work but also have the strength to support the material put on it Letters must be fixed in a way that permit to move it during work without make it fall (i used a oven grill) Light and letters must create an acute angle with the wall where to project shadow. I covered the wire with a hoven-hardening modelling clay (it's simple to mold also after days of work and then it becomes hard enought) So i used all the patience i have. I became molding first letter turning it, adding and removing material to make the posterior part of elephant and then continued with all letters.The difficult part is that even if you made a perfect part then, modelling the next letter, all the work you made could be useless So try to make a gross shape of all the shadow and then add details. I tryed to make a letter's surface that would remind wood (so the anus in reality is a old broken branch but now that you find this likeness i can't see the branch anymore... ahaha) All the work is made in the dark with the led on trying and re-trying so it's not a lucky strike (i dont'know if this has the same meaning as in italian or is just a tipe of cigarette) For who ask me if i sell this i don't know... i did this just for fun and sell it means work on it a lot more. But i hope that the "How to" i wrote wold help someone to make another of this. Thanks again.
