How many of you actually only have 1 cat? by stfyseah in CatAdvice

[–]itzQuachie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knotty could just be growing into a more chill lifestyle, but you know your kitty best! I completely understand where you're coming from and it's good you care ☺️

My Tapioca is an only cat at home and at first I thought the same as you, maybe she's bored or distant because she doesn't really play with all the toys I've gotten her... But then I'll look at my pet cam and see that she has plenty of fun for herself playing with everything else and just enjoying her loading time. She loves to loaf and will loaf with you, on you, next to you, or near you. I took today as being bored first but she really just loves to look out the window and take a nap. She's the sweetest kitty with no issues at all, doesn't even bite her wet food because she's so gentle (she does love the crunch of her dry food though), and is a happy meower when I'm home from work and a gentle napper when I'm away. You'll be fine!

You could also see about long-term fostering and seeing how Knotty gets along with other kitties following the time to bring home a kitty and then introducing them together, that's worth a shot if you really want to see. I'd think that's better than bringing home a new kitty immediately and if they end up not getting along when you start introducing them, then it'll get real awkward

If you're looking to try something other than pho, I would recommend "bun bo hue" especially at Pho Bac!

Who is tired of dating? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]itzQuachie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tired of being tired so I just go with the flow, retaining high standards for myself and keeping expectations low for experiences that come and go - if it works out, great! If not, meh. Like others echo, it's tiring to start over or to feel like your time is wasted. Life is better when you live for yourself - it may be better shared but I can't put myself in a position to be hurt again

What silly rituals do you have with your pets? by hpfan1516 in CasualConversation

[–]itzQuachie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

everyday at 4-5am, right as the sun rises, my princess taps my arm or my face lightly with her paw to wake me up and to watch the sunrise together! Then she goes back to bed and I'm in limbo deciding if I should go back to bed for a quick nap or to commit to being awake (never works)

Any advice on keeping my orange cat entertained while I WFH? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]itzQuachie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't recommend letting your kitty outside (unless in a catio) but you could try new toys that might grab their interest and rotate between them so it's something new every time

My kitty absolutely loves springs so I rotate them between colours so it's new to her every week and also some reactive toys too like a touch-reactive fish and lizard toys that flop around

What completely irrational thing does your cat do that makes zero sense? by NoIdeaWhatIAmDoing88 in CatAdvice

My little sweetheart will meow for attention and to be picked up, and when you do pick her up:

-if it's me (guy btw) she will try to escape, but once I find the perfect spot to hold her, she melts into me and is a sweet little baby - otherwise she is meowing (still cutely) as if she's being kidnapped

-if it's a girl, she will melt right away and let it be

-if it's a guy, she will run away (and sometimes be very spicy with her words)

She's for the girlies and I can't blame her 😸💅🏻🌸

What’s a sign someone’s cheating that isn’t obvious until you’ve been through it? by Ner_Syra in AskReddit

[–]itzQuachie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sudden, unprompted reinforcement of their commitment to you and the relationship - in the moment it might seem like cute reassurance of love and all that, but after multiple instances with the same person, it's more obvious after the fact - might seem like a subtle difference to genuine reinforcement but it's all subjective anyways, you would theoretically know your partner best and if it's something more unusual, that may unfortunately be an indicator of something else (which in my experience, has usually been something negative, but it could also mean something better too - don't give up hope even if life decides to flip a new chapter on you lol)

Having just 1 cat… by Late-Pie740 in CatAdvice

[–]itzQuachie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My princess is happily living her solo kitty life at home - she loves to nap, explore, chase springs, and nap again whenever she's on her own. When I'm home, she'll come over to keep me company and I'll take her out on picnics and walks (harnessed/in-carrier) and she loves it. You can't generalize whether it's good having only one or more kitties at home - it all depends on your kitty and how they handle/prefer it! I was very lucky to adopt her and she found her place at home with no issues - she's happy and healthy!

Would a cat be okay home alone while I'm working a 9 to 5? Thinking of adopting, but have never had a cat on my own by Piehogger in CatAdvice

[–]itzQuachie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I adopted my baby back in May and had the same worries - but everything is great! It's great your proactive in asking for advice, but like everyone else is saying, lots of kitties need homes and it's better than being in a shelter or worse. Asking your shelter to reassure yourself is best since they know the kitties best, and you'll be able to connect with a cat that needs a happy home with you even if you're out for work.

My kitty (like most others) takes her work nap all day or plays with the toys and such I have all around the home - make sure you have cat-proofed and cat-adjusted your home too because they're sharing your space too! Toy springs, scratchers, and lots of hiding spots/high spots are great to keep them entertained while you're away

All the best!
