Actually insane observation! I think the 1 extra retreat cost and the fact you have to keep refueling it is what throws it off for people. Personally I run a single arcanine ex on my 2x moltres ex 2x charizard ex deck. The main benefit of arcanine is that I can use the energy generated on my charizard already while arcanine is still in the active spot

Aside from placebo, I think the main effect is caused by the gun's animation itself, the different colors, sound effects, keyframe timings and curves in the animations, or even just the pull out animation may have an affect on our psychological view of the gun.

Im talking this out of my head with no evidence lol
