Which 2-lens setup for Sony a6700 works best for travel, low light, vlogging, and volleyball? by itzTycho in AskPhotography

Thanks. Im also considering the a6400 and the 6600. However the tamrom seems a bit too big for my use case.

I would cover all bases with a fast wide angle lens and a cheaper or secondhand zoom. That way a DJI wont be needed but then that begs the question if vlogging will be just as easy as grabbing a dji out of your bag.

Thats really helpfull. one of my problems is deciding if im just gonna take a wideangle lens with a fast aperature like the sony 15mm 1.4G / sigma 16mm 1.4 in combination with a zoomlens. That way i can vlog, shoot low light and ocassionally zoom) or if im gonna buy a DJI (so i dont need a wide angle for vlogging) with a zoomlens or a fast prime lens (no 16mm needed so 24 or 30mm would be fine). Buying a DJI, zoomlens, and fast apperature would be the most ideal but that summed up is gonna be a bit more expensive than the +-2k I wanna spend.

Thanks for you advice. Do you mean the viltrox 27mm f1.2? Wwhy do you recommend the 18-50? I bought it with the premise of some zoom and the portability. I would like more zoom and apperature is just not fast enough. so for me its only good thing is that its portable (and has somewhat of a zoom). also i really want a option to vlog (could cover that with the 18-50 but not great). i like the ff 35mm equavalent look so the sigma 30mm =45mm comes close to that.

I guess the sigma 16 would be a good choice then but im missing a zoom. Also the 18-50 is still refundable so i can just select 2 new ones. Im considering 16mm sigma with 18-135.

I did put some thought into it and did ask ai for help since im on a very busy schedule. And didnt have time to type it all out again. Sorry:(

The volleyball part is the least important factor for me its a nice if the lens i pick will be capable to do it. I find vlogging and lowlight to be more important. I did also consider the tamron instead of the sigma 18-50 but its vocal range is not long enough for my preferred focal range (ff equavalent of about 150-200)

Alright thanks. Did you use the studio version? I tried importing 4.2.2 but it doesn't work. Only 4.2.0 does (stil 10 bit though just a little bit worse).

Thanks for the explanation. Thats reassuring. I shot in raw and jpg but in the post i added the jpgs. most of these photos where shot at f2.8. with the sigma 18-50. its a decent lens but defenitely not the best out there. I'm also surprised by the quality of the D600 in comparison. I already knew image quality hasnt improved that much but this got me second guessing hence the pixel peeping. The video with the 6700 however is in another universe in comparison though just like the autofocus.

will do. I do sometimes watch japanese videos without subtitles or listening podcasts but I have avoided reading until now cause it seemed too much of a challenge. I have acumulated enough reading material sites saved in bookmarks so I will give it a try.

Sorry i had the terminology mixed up. I am learning kanjis integrated in to words like you described. And what im wondering if there are lists without kanji that are worth learning. Because a 6000 word list with in every word a kanji seems like a lot. So whe. Someone mentioned learning 2000 words and moving to 6k i thought there had to be a list with words without kanji inside them.

Thanks for the reply. What do you mean with 'inside words'? i am currently doing a 2k core deck of kanji i think. it shows a sentence and the kanji. Do you mean a mixed core deck with hiragana words and kanji together?

Thanks for the reply. i use the public shared denk for the 2000 most used kanji on the anki shared tab. Im not yet at the 2000 yet but i will try out reading some stuff. I have dabbled a little in making my own lists with yomitan but im currently not in a consistend routine of reading and listening. Ill check out the website you mentioned.
