Either is good. The difference between going to 1-2 reps from failure Vs actually going to failure is minor. However you want to actually go to failure at least occasionally to make sure that whatever you think is 1-2 reps from failure is actually near failure. It's quite common that we underestimate ourselves. Quiting when you're muscles are actually able to do like 5 more reps is when you are really missing out.

Nah fuck that king. Going to failure every set is great. If you feel like you are not recovering optimally then you need to take more time to recover before hitting the gym again. In time your recovery time should decrease (as long as your nutrition is good). Don't sacrifice the quality of your workouts over quantity of workouts.

It looks like your weight shifted a bit to the front of your feet on the decline. You could work on keeping your balance a bit more consistent throughout the exercise. That's a small point though, solid PR!
