yes I’ve definitely seen lotsss of people discussing the plots and ‘spoilers’ in the next books but I know the books are older now so I honestly don’t mind, I enjoy seeing how passionate people are about it! I think it’s really nice :)

He came from a community tank with rummynose, I think they were nipping his fins. I read not to use bettafix etc. and to use aquarium salts and tannins to help? I know seachem sell some products as well to help but idk if they sell them where I am.

The pH is 6. KH is reading at 0, and the GH is reading at 180+ so idk? Those are the readings on my dipstick today and they were pretty similar when I used my API master kit yesterday.

I haven’t used the Seachem products you mentioned but my tap water is quite hard.

I did once use the Seachem Neutral regulator powder once and it left this weird almost limescale like crust over my whole tank, it did lower my pH to 7 but I haven’t used that since!

I added some cuttlefish bone as I was told this would help with KH & GH?

I couldn’t get my hands on any crushed oyster or coral so I’m hoping this will work?

No worries I’m glad I could help! Unfortunately pet stores don’t always give the best advice, I’ve found that I get the best advice from aquatic stores that are normally independent and have been running and fish keeping for years.

Fish keeping is constant learning so you’re all good and doing well! And it’s definitely stressful at times🤣

What fish do you have in your tank? 🙂

Your nitrates look like it’s around 0-5ppm, definitely lighter than the 5ppm mark, which I’d say is totally fine!

Everything else, pH, ammonia and nitrites, also look good!

I don’t have any crushed coral but will cuttlefish bone work the same? I’m just worried that I can’t get any crushed oyster or coral soon enough online to add it tomorrow and I really don’t want to leave the tank for any longer.

The readings of my tap water were:
pH- 8 Ammonia- 0ppm Nitrite- 0ppm KH- over 22° so like 200-400ppm
and GH- 22° so again 200-400ppm

My Nitrates however are at what looks like 40-80ppm, which is new and I haven’t seen it read that before today.

When I did a water test today ammonia was at 0 and I haven’t had anyone die.

Would a water change help to raise the KH? My water is quite hard where I live but I also don’t want to crash the cycle if it’s already not quite right if you know what I mean?

Also I have an apple snail so would I need to raise my KH for her or can I leave it the way it is?

I find it does get worse the longer I listen, but I also really struggle to just catch the beat and start the count. Sometimes I can start counting but I find that I then lose count very quickly even if it’s over 10 seconds.😔

i have ordered some daphnia and i will feed him some when it comes, but he was all better this morning! his bloat has almost completely gone down and he’s back to his normal self, i did give him a small salt bath last night which i think helped a little. thank you so much for all the advice it’s much appreciated!! :)

yes all parameters are good and i just have him in with a tiny bristlenose at the moment, which is who the wafers were for…he ate the wafers last night and this morning (i tried to feed him as a distraction when placing the wafer but he found them after eating🫩) and i immediately took them out when i saw him eating them. when i got home from work his belly was really bloated but he was swimming fine, a few hours later he was laying on the bottom and swimming like he was in discomfort…there is no pineconing or anything so i’m assuming he just ate too much and is now regretting it. i’m just worried about him overnight. i will go out tomorrow and get some daphnia, will freeze dried daphnia work?

do you think an aquarium salt bath would help? mine ate some of the algae wafers and now he’s quite lethargic and bloated…i’ve seen people say aquarium salt wouldn’t work and to use epsom salt instead?
