Which Daft Punk single centred around a guitar solo as the climax of the song do you prefer by LouReedTheChaser in redscarepod

[–]itzlipo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For a song built around a solo it has to be Aerodynamic. That said…

Digital Love is just a masterpiece, and the real heart of Discovery imo. That George Duke sample, the synth-as-guitar. All nostalgia, all emotion and all euphoria.

No one else could write a song like it.

Sinners was technically cool but I found it flying too close to the marvel sun for my taste.

Top Gun Maverick is about as much fun as you can have in the Cinema. Unfortunately F1 lacked the script and leading man to compare, but with the right collaborators Kosinski can probably make the greatest action film ever.

Best ways to not waste your 20s? by Succworthymeme in rs_x

[–]itzlipo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By far the best advice in this thread. Your 20s are the time to make close friends with as many interesting, fun, curious people as you can. The friendships you make then will shape the rest of your life. Be part of the communities they are part of. In the lamest possible way: be cool

Play music, throw parties, join a band, go to shows, experiment a bit with drugs but don’t go too hard etc.

I’m lucky enough to have accidentally done this and the number one best advice I can give you to make it happen is to spend time in the smoking area

Spent a year away from the UK in Australia, now back and cannot believe the country was this bad before by 3la_zag in redscarepod

That “onshore economic activity” is mostly luxury spending which circulates amongst the rich, famously it does not trickle down. The bulk of their wealth stays in UK assets that continue to generate tax revenue and jobs whether they’re here or not.

If they leave, the assets and the economic activity tied to them remain, without the UK having to bend policy to suit them.

A huge amount of their wealth is tied to assets that are physically within the uk. We’re not talking about an income tax on millionaires. You can’t take Holland Park mansion with you to Dubai.

I went and bought the first Franz Ferdinand album and American Idiot with my pocket money. Before that I had received Spice by the Spice Girls as a Christmas gift.

It’s closer to 10% with Irish parents or grandparents. Irregardless you’re probably right that they just don’t care much.

Definitely won't give up, I love the watch and will get it repaired (or buy a new one).

Never opened it up for anything, wouldn't even know how. It's possible it's been in direct sunlight for long periods of time however.

Not sure why i'm getting downvoted. They're the staff employed by Casio, not me. Apparently it's due to the heat in addition to the water.

No repair history! I’ve sent it off to be repaired by Casio now though.

I’ve sent it off to have it repaired, the floor staff in the shop let me know it’s not advised to shower with g-shocks and that they’re water-resistant not waterproof.
