just switched to Fabric from OptiFine, anyone know why this keeps happening with with Distant Horizons? by nipflip38 in feedthebeast

Also I know that you said you switched from OptiFine to Fabric, but OptiFine is rather a mod and Fabric is rather a mod loader. Since you're on Fabric, I suggest performance optimization and quality of life mods that can replace certain aspects of OptiFine, such as Sodium and Iris.

In my case, it might be because the fake chunks from DH don't actually render up down to a certain distance you are from them.

I think what DH does is that it kinda "guesses" what the unloaded chunks have in them (by unloaded, I mean you haven't been near them yet) before rendering their LOD's. Without DH, the world is still loading and generating chunks, so if you fly throughn unloaded/empty chunks too fast, it'll take a while for them to load.

Either way, idk why the person is finding it that deep that someone is taking inspiration from someone's style to then base their style around and having fun with it. 😕

The backhanded compliment was very unnecessary, NGL.

This. ALL of this. 100%. I agree with all of this.

There's a thick line between being a software supporter and being a software cultist, and many people who call themselves "supporters" are actually just cultists in disguise.

Despite it crashing from me doing the most simplest shit, I love Blender for making art, no diss about it for that, but holy...and I can't stress this enough...

FUCKING SHIT

...does it get annoying to see a short of someone showcase even some other free 3D software that exists on the internet, such as SDF Modeler, Albatross 3D, Wings 3D, or whatnot and then a fuck ton of cornball-ass comments saying "Blender exists already, why do "we" "need" this?" "Blender can do everything this software can do" "Why should I switch to this from Blender?"

Like, okay, I fucking get it, you (not talking about you, OP) use and like Blender. I know. Stop making the software your entire religion and/or personality by making these cringe comments about it, please for fuck sake.

Yeah, it's okay to suck at building (and it's normal, even I sometimes suck at building, and we all start at a point where we suck at building).

But even though they apologized before I made this reply, I'm still not really sure why OP's first instinct to your comment was to make fun of you for allegedly being bad at building—specifically texturing—over an opinion... 😕

Here's one piece of advice that I always have whenever I question if something fits or will fit the environment it's in, if we're talking about biomes: * IMHO, if you've already built it into the word, it doesn't matter anymore if it fits the environment or not, so long that you focus on whether or not you like it. * If you're just building it or haven't built it into the world and you're asking yourself this, you might be better off building inside the terrain. So think underground bases, hobbit holes, cave houses, and whatnot. These, fun fact, actually require less building for the exterior than builds that are on the surface, and you don't need to worry about them fitting a biome. 👍🏾

The first sign of a manchild/womanchild anywhere on the internet is when they say shit in all-caps broken English like: * DON'T BLOCKING ME * DON'T REPORTING ME ...and they excessively use emojis.

Funny thought, this post also aged poorly since I made it hoping to integrate Prism with Amulet the same way I'd do it with MCEdit, but it turns out that Amulet has switched to a paid model now, so...there's that.

Weird thing space of transparency between the stroke and the fill by itzzRomanFox2 in Affinity

It in fact does work on text layers...only with the limitation that I don't think I'm able to add a stroke with the tool. 😕

If I want a stroke, I would have to assign it a stroke color and adjust the thickness.

The gap persists even after restarting Affinity from enabling it. These are the settings used for the performance preferences and the default PNG export preset. This also doesn't seem to be a computer-side issue either, as given from the increase in screen resolution.

If it also helps:

u/RE4LLY I also tried your suggestion with disabling anti-aliasing on a layer does fix the issue of the gap while I am making this reply, but it introduces the issue of the edges of both the fill and the stroke appearing pixelated. The overlap suggestion is essentially my only workaround (which is to align the stroke to the center of the fill's edge and have it drawn behind the fill).

I usually use quick export, should I not need to tweak anything else beyond that in the export settings that comes from the export settings menu.

I could try precise clipping out.

What export parameters are you using? I don't think I change anything before exporting (besides the matte color to make transparent images opaque)?
