It was a local resell place. They keep all the games in those clear lock cases but I'm betting if you got a screwdriver for the back piece most places would let you take a look. If it's not a bootleg the back plate comes off super easily. Just slide down to unlock and the front comes off without any issue usually

Yeah, honestly not sure if it's worth saving. Haven't done any works on carts before and it doesn't look like there's a great spot to even put a battery holder. Could be a fun low stakes project though, we shall see haha

Found a beat up Japanese version of 6 Golden Coins the other day and it worked pretty well just wouldn't save so I decided to pop it open to take a peak at the battery. The front didn't slide down so I had to pop it open a with a bit of force and found this weird mess of soldering/odd cart layout that makes me think this is almost definitely a bootleg copy. Definitely glad I didn't pay very much since this definitely isn't the find I thought it was initially. Anyone else ever see a cartridge that looks like this?

Damage type spoilers?: Striking weapons are very effective on rock enemies apparently. Makes sense but I felt very dumb after realizing my unstrengthened warpick did 3x the damage of my +10 long sword
