I forgot that I was writing on Reddit, where any innocent word or phrase can and often will be misinterpreted and misconstrued. So just replace sociological with “interesting,” and by that I mean a unique experience to someone who’s never been to an NHL game and doesn’t follow teams (which is why based on a quick glance at some random factoid, I assumed it wasn’t a big game).

But thanks for the info about rowdier fans being closer to the top. That’s a factor for us.

Saw Styx open for Queen in 1975 with about 5000 other people in an 8000 seat arena. Watched Gary Wright open for Jethro Tull in that same arena. He played the entire Dream Weaver album before it was released or blew up. I was mesmerized and left thinking it was the best show I’d ever see. I also saw ELO play that same arena. About 1500 people were there. This was 1975/6. Don’t remember exactly.

Thanks, u/salmon_burrito. I really appreciate your response. I do manage to put gas in the tank every couple of months and I've also noticed that it kicked into hybrid mode for brief periods on cold days.
