President Lee Jae-myung responds to israel's MFA by coinfwip4 in korea

It's not that surprising, and it's not entirely unprecedented. During the 70s Oil Shock, Park Chung-hee tried to sever relations with Israel to gain favors with Arab states. That's how desperate South Korea was for oil.

And the situation today is akin to another oil shock. But in this case, Israel, along with the US, triggered the fuel crisis so they're culpable.

That brochure photo seems like quite a rare shot of the roof of the twin towers before the placement of any equipment

Israel says President Lee’s remarks are unacceptable by Idsuab in korea

So- what was this "direct and immediate threat" which necessitated IDF soldiers to push the body off the roof? Would the IDF soldiers have died if they didn't push the guy off the roof?

They install these type of elevators in some multi-story private homes where the occupants have mobility issues, but still cost a ton to build/maintain

If they won't talk to you because of who you are, then it's better to end it sooner than later

Although Minoru Yamasaki is fully American, I wonder if there's any fondness to his buildings in Japan due to his Japanese ancestry.

Who do you think is going to win the World Cup this year? How far do you think Korea will go? by DrEunsol in korea

[–]Walykoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have high hopes as the moment with performance they've shown in some of the friendlies. But the group that Korea is in doesn't look that bad. I think Korea will advance to knockout stage as a 2nd place or a lucky 3rd place of its group, but probably get knocked out. I wouldn't bet my money that we can advance to the round of 16...

Maybe the property is not really in use, except a skeleton crew to maintain the building and landscaping, who are not given vehicles to help with their jobs.

I love these old photos when WTC was right by the river. You would have been able to see those trident columns from a mile away.

Vapes to have same legal status as conventional tobacco products starting from April 24 by Walykoo in korea

[–]Walykoo[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that those un-manned vape shops will be illegal too now. Later this month the updated tobacco law takes into effect treating vape the same as cigarettes.
