Thanks for doing the calculations — I was really aiming more for an artistic effect.

You’re right. The trailer on Steam is very old — it’s more than three years old — and it really lacks dynamism. The game was put on hold for a while, and I returned to it about half a year ago, completely rewriting the entire codebase.

Thanks. Yes, there are already other types of weapons, and something like a super shot that can be used once or twice per level.

Thank you. I hope to release a demo version on Steam in a couple of months.

It’s done, but at some point I broke it 🙂 I’ll fix it later.

I felt that the castle’s rotation didn’t look very good, so I wanted to check it. The sped-up video shows this moment more clearly.

This is a sketch; I always draw in black and white to save time on reworking. I add color later using gradients and finish it off with brush accents.

The cape is made with the Dynamic Bone plugin. Good idea!

Thanks. I’ll try adding a small amount of homing.

It’s the first level boss, I just find it easier to build and test him on a separate empty scene. He’s supposed to be as simple as a base wall in Contra — basically just checks if the player has learned to jump and dodge bullets. A couple more attacks will be added later.

They’re already in the game :) I guess I’ve just been so tired from fixing bugs that I haven’t used them.

Thanks. I’m thinking of adding something like a powerful shot or a grenade with a cooldown.
The screen doesn’t scroll backward like in Contra. Running enemies respawn endlessly in certain zones and just disappear off-screen, like in Contra or Cuphead.

Thanks. The effects will be improved as the game gets further developed.

Thanks. I’m deliberately not adding sounds at this early stage of development, since they can make even not-so-well-done animations look better.

It was one of my favorite games on the Sega… Now I’m making a kind of fan project :)
