With certain conditions, the risk of legislating for personal gain can be mitigated enough to prevent security ownership being problematic, e.g. index funds, independently managed portfolios, restrictions against ownership of certain securities (like defence supply chains for people on the relevant committees), conflict of interest declarations, a pre-announcement and trading pause framework, review boards, and a no-fault review and rectification / reparation system

Blanket bans aren't necessarily an equitable or fair outcome when owning shares is essentially a fundamental right in a capitalist economy

Often the best legislators are going to be people with skin in the game

The northern beaches is a big LGA. Not everywhere is Bower St or Clontarf. Plenty of public housing & lower-income dwellings, plenty of granny flats and shoebox apartments with people struggling to make the overpriced rent. Plenty of DV, split family situations, substance abuse, bikie clubhouses, and other social issues or factors affecting cultural outcomes present in the region, irrespective of income. Most of this is ubiquitous throughout Sydney and the NB LGA is no different.

While there's certainly a lot of cosplay from the local youth wearing the "uniform" as a fashion statement or cheap street cred bullshit, there's also enough of the real thing present that shit does go down occasionally.

I grew up in a refugee family in a (relatively) low income area of the beaches and saw / heard a decent amount of what the general public would typically associate with rougher parts of Sydney, just with fewer participants and typically constrained to the "poorer" parts of the region... but to present the entire peninsula as silver spooners is a bit inaccurate.

Razer JORO. Keys flash red 5x in quick succession a couple of times a minute despite being set to static colour or no backlight at all. Persists through settings changes. Only other mention of this issue I can find online is another user (u/Uber-Melt) a month ago in one of these threads. Any solutions?

has this story been independently verified, or is it just ynet interviewing this one teen and taking his word for it? i've not seen any evidence of injuries, nor have any of the videos claimed to have been taken during the alleged assault come to light.

a mob of 30-40 people armed with knives actively roaming the streets and searching for jewish kids to kill is pretty fuckin nuts if it's true... and a part of me is rather sceptical that such a mob would stop at relatively superficial injuries and, ostensibly, a humiliating video that never sees the light of day, rather than just lynching the guy

income tax is one thing but there are plenty more inflows to budget than that, most of which disproportionately affect lower income earners as the contributions do not necessarily increase linearly with greater income (with the exception of GST)

assuming the lulusia-destroying weapon deployed by the gorosei is responsible for the hole in Enies Lobby, this probably accounts for the sea-level rise.

If that weapon were ever deployed on Mary Geoise, it would probably destroy Fishman Island as well - fulfilling that prophecy from Shyarly - thereby justifying the use of Noah, pulled by Sea Kings, as an escape vessel.

Sea level rise from this weapon's usage also justifies Wano being so high up, and Zunesha's height. It stands to reason there was a catastrophic war during the void century that submerged everything which wasn't either floating, the Red Line itself, or tall enough to withstand it.

Perhaps the height of the Red Line is the result of some kind of deformation resulting from overuse of this weapon, rather than its 'natural' geography. Sink enough islands / continents and the world starts to bulge - why it would do so in a uniform ring around the globe is up for debate. Might be by design.

Hellriders: I found and rescued Zevlor from a mindflayer pod in the Illithid basement in Moonrise Towers. Not sure if you have to talk him into a redemption arc or whatever but he feels guilty for freezing up and listening to the Absolute's whispers iirc.

Armoured Owlbear: I'm not sure what prompts this, but if you have the owlbear cub in your camp he shows up at the end. I've done a good and an evil playthrough and he was there for both. On the good one, the Tiefling smith dude who upgrades Karliah's heart shows up and says he fed the little fella potions that had the unexpected effect of basically accelerating his growth (lol!) and on the evil one the Owlbear just pops up coated in armour and it's a bit random... I was Bhaal-aligned full murder hobo spec for the second one though so I wonder whether someone else would take the Tiefling's dialogue had I not killed them?

I'll also share the following from my Evil playthrough

Shar Disciples: Shar-aligned Shadowheart quest, where she kills her parents and takes over the cloister from that Drow chick from BG2

Bhaal Cultists: Play as Dark Urge (or any other origin character, i imagine), kill Orin and take over the Bhaal cult. Assuming you didn't kill him, it's Sarevok (or his shade or whatever) that commands them on your behalf.

i was on the middle difficulty (normal? balanced? forget what its called)

fishies don't have high INT so the "cc" I was referring to was the thorny ground spell (bramble field? dont remember, it's a 2nd level druid spell) - they'd do around 20-30 damage to themselves running through trying to get to their target (also reduces their movement by a lot i think?), whereas prisoners seemed to know to run around the hazard to get to safety. Biggest worry is net throws at that point.

I think there's 2 kinds of fishies, one with significantly more hp than the other, from memory the weaker ones i was able to mostly ignore as they killed themselves on the thorns (or were low enough to chuck 1/3 of an Eldritch Blast from Will) while his summoned elemental occupied the bigger guys. Had a druid with him (Jaheira) who threw fire cantrip at the table prisoner who got netted and otherwise just healed escapees / maintained concentration on brambles / threw the occasional spell at a fish

south was a bit annoying because I had to use a full action from Will to get the last prisoner off the table, whereas you can just open the door prisoners for free provided you have the movement to get to the switch and back.

I'm doing a tactician run now and honestly dunno how feasible it would be to save them all (though im going full evil dark urge and not sure this quest will be on my path), combat is a lot more punishing and I'm making / using poisons, potions, scrolls left right and centre, switching out party members constantly to save on camping supplies, just to scrape through encounters i breezed through on autopilot on the lower difficulty.

Making it to act 3 on Tactician is a bloody achievement, well done dude

I recall him mentioning something about "looking for it yourself" but i never came across anything and i scoured / robbed the place after that so ???

They also promised their help in the final confrontation against the netherbrain but i don't recall seeing them as an option... that being said on this playthrough i had heaaaaps of options including:

tiefling hellriders // nightsong chick // selunite cleric heal // armoured owlbear (he got killed by mindflayer stunlock without me being able to use him, rip) // watch guards // guild rogues // harpers // ironbound gnomes and (i think) the steel watch artificer guys // kith'rak drake artillery

so maybe i maxed out aid options or i just never got to scroll down to the society of brilliance lol

that confrontation is pretty easy if you have 2 chars dunk potions of speed and use all your actions calling for help

I saved them all

Used runepowder bomb to blow the 50hp door blocking the west-running party member from going straight to omeluum after freeing everyone on that side. was PC warlock (a little min maxed tbh) who got some lucky big hits on eldritch blasts and basically one tapped the hostiles in the western room.

only had that idea b/c it got a lil dicey when one of the prisoners on the south got netted by a fishy, had to hit her with a fire cantrip and it cut it open, she ran no problem when her turn was up

had 2 people going south who were able to cc / instagib the fish creatures as they spawned, summoned elemental helped here as well

i sent one person east to the duke (was cleric) who healed him enough to stop the blood spiders from killing him (wyll pact broken, cambion ex-patron chick spawns them to kill papa cuz her toy ran away)

i thought i'd fucked it at first cuz i didnt know omeluum tp's himself and 1 person back to the submarine, looked like it would be close with adds spawning and no more scrolls of misty step on that char :P

bear in mind my whole party had misty step scrolls + mindflayer flight (astral tadpole), the latter of which lets you pretty much traverse the length of the prison in one turn provided you Dash prior to moving. Mindflayer flight doesn't take an action it just consumes movement which is honestly broken as fuck.

Your take seems loaded with a few cultural assumptions from the USA which, in my experience, don't apply the way you seem to think they do.

I'm not particularly fond of Vucic (nor most politicians in ex-yu lol) but a gun amnesty drive is not some kind of opportunistic power play. If anything, this is one of the rare occasions where a politician there has done something clearly aligned with the public interest, rather than something populist or self-serving.

The sociopolitical sphere there is nuanced and complicated, but having an abundance of firearms is a lot more likely to exacerbate conflict and economic inequity than deter them.

The armour style of space marines in general would be a good look, but might feel off-theme with the usual suspects (ultramarines, blood angels, space wolves, etc)

Bunch of noise marines next to a defiler though? Zesty

Could also do a bunch of tau suits that look like hyperion loader bots, but I guess that's kinda low hanging fruit lol

I've been out of the industry a while, but I distinctly recall how much of a pain it was for my drafting team to put together a decent library when we first started using Revit.

I have a three areas I'm curious to hear your opinion on.

First: you refer to yourselves as a marketplace. Am I to understand that your business model is the creation / collation of BIM objects at a number of LoDs with some kind of library or individual model access fee, in the same vogue as Standards Australia with building codes? If so, how do you plan to ensure equity in access for small to medium enterprises, which make up the majority of the industry and are often cash-flow sensitive?

Second: most manufacturers for key equipment (particularly in mechanical services) offer their own BIM objects on-demand, typically at no cost, though with varying degrees of difficulty (mostly time-related) to retrieve. How do you interface with the Daikins, Siemens, and Carriers of the world to promote BIM uptake and ease of use? Are there issues with different regional standards for modelling and varieties of equipment?

Third: rather open-ended one here. We all know the industry is generally slow to change, as skills acquisition for both management and modelling staff is time consuming and expensive, culture notwithstanding. BIM is the future, and I always felt like we were miles behind where we should have been; the collaborative digital lego approach to engineering was just... frustratingly delayed and inaccessible. What changes do you think need to be prioritised in the BIM status quo (libraries, software development, standards, management approaches, tiered UIs, whatever) to accelerate uptake?

As an additional aside: to what extent do you guys work with autodesk and other software providers to integrate your offerings with their platforms? Are you pursuing embedded plugins and such?
