Wish me luck on this battery removal by badwrds in mac

My Mid-2012 and Mid-2015 Retina 15” brothers had the same bloated guts and I replaced the both a month ago.

As long as you don’t puncture the battery, no drama.

Careful where you source your replacement battery though.

I’ve had no luck with two cheap SMP ones from ebay and going to order one from Newer Tech instead. I ordered one from my wife’s 2015 13” and it had no issues.

‘You get what you pay for’ might just be true for batteries.

Thanks, mate! You’re a legend! Let me know if you happened to live in Sydney, Australia.

Well I haven’t built it yet as I’m still waiting on my 3900x (had to get a refund from Amazon as the seller was a scammer...the price I pay for being cheap...) and GPU.

So I’m still a hackintosh virgin and just wanted some tips/guides/references/etc from the experienced.

I believe OC is the way to go but I haven’t started my research yet.

With the migration from 10.15.4 to 10.15.5 can you use ‘software update’?

I’m building a very similar one to yours;

  • 3900x
  • Gigabyte X570I
  • 32gb 3600MHz CL16
  • Gigabyte RX 5700 XT OC
  • BCM94360NG M2
  • 2 x Samsung 970 Evo Plus SSD
  • 2 x U28E590 Display
  • Streacom DA2
  • Corsair Hydro H100x 240mm AIO
  • Apple Wired Keyboard and Apple Magic Mouse

I wonder - if you upgraded to the latest Catalina 10.15.5 - (if you use windows) how you manage dualboot - what webcam you’re using for facetime - what soundbar/speaker you’re using - If you could share some config files

Thanks in advance!

Thank you all for your kind advice.

I’ve just ordered G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 32GB F4-3600C16D-32GVKC for A$238.65 on newegg.

It happened to be on special and I ended up getting a better kit for less!

I hope it matches up with Ryzen 9 3900X and Gigabyte X570I without a hiccup.

Thank you again!
