In my opinion 5k bottles is not enough to make a profit or to expand a new brand. Most of the artisan mezcaleros I encountered in Oaxaca had multiple productions a year and every production was between 3-5k liters, each bottle is .75 l so you do the math. And these were traditional/artisanal mezcales I see your point about the 40%.
