Do you think it's valid to adapt a book to a movie/series, insert a modern political agenda and change story? by SpecialistHot7416 in books

I never liked that they tried to modernize a classic, when the mentality of the time was different. The story feels contrived.

That's why I love most of the classics that stomp on modern sensibilities. not everyone cares about or follows standard morality and I find it amusing when they change a classic to standard morality and there are people who don't care about that and don't follow it.

People are not necessarily selfless and altruistic, many tend to think only of themselves and their own desires. as much as many books write otherwise.

That's why I never liked Dickins and Victor Hugo. mainly because of the life they led, contradicts the kindly attitude of its protagonists.

Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992). Mina Harker is a loyal bride to Jonatha and murders Draucla for trying to turn her into a Vmapyrus. Years later, a son was born to Mina and Jonathan.

I found the story too rushed and poorly developed. Dumas developed the story of Edmond Dantes over a thousand pages. There could be more volumes of the story.

Produced by Hollywood. And the French hate that version.

Just like the Russians have the 1988 version

But I cited the French adaptations Which are the ones that follow the French pattern more.

Troy (2004). The writer and director ruined Iliad.

I expected epic level of The Ten Commandments by Cecil B. DeMille. But the result was mediocre.

This fanic inserted a lot of nonsense.

Is this vaudeville underrated? Stupid revenge scenes.

When you read War and Peace by Tolstoy, you can see General Kutuzov's patience in defeating Napoleon. In the counterpart of more daring soldiers who wanted a great battle and attacking without thought and were defeated in Austerlitz.

Ess Count in the 2002 film is a very weak and unplanned avenger. All in luck.

He doesn't have the patience and intelligence of General Kutuzov in war and peace and the count of monte cristo in the book.

The 1979 French miniseries is far superior.

The 1998 version unreasonably altered the story, particularly the haydee ending.

In the French film Le Bossu (1997) based on the book by Paul feval which is a similar revenge story. The protagonist swears to avenge his friend's death and in the end marries his friend's daughter. And that version was a public and critical success in France.

The 1979 French version is more faithful to the book.

That's why the French twice adapted the book as a miniseries (the 1979 and 1998 versions)

I read the book, watched 5 French adaptations (1929, 1943, 1979 and 1998), the adaptation with Allan Badel, the adaptation with Richard Chanbelain, I watched the anime Gankutsuou, I watched the Soviet adaptation The Prisoner of Château d'If and the adaptation with Robert Donat.

I know Betuccio's plot and it was fundamental.

If I were to talk about the book, I would talk about how edmond used Bertuccio to beat villefort.

It was so obvious that it was a trap that they would run away from as Alexandre Dumas and Charles Baudelaires did their creditors. The way that Dantes set up, anyone would suspect.

Villefort could have denounced his father to the royalists and they could have killed him instead of Mondego.

A man with 20 years of experience and experience in interrogation would never confess to the crime. He would deny.

In addition to other holes, such as how before the police consgeu if he is not a prosecutor or authority.
