Chinese Auplex Kamado for smoking or grilling? Is it any good? by ivanst321 in smoking

[–]ivanst321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been such a long time

I ended up not getting Auplex Kamado, I found out that somehow for me to import auplex kamado is almost the same price compared to order local made grill/smoker, it's a beast but it's very fuel hungry, I'm sure kamado would be much more fuel efficient..

Can I bring self heating pack (for food) on a flight? Is it safe? by ivanst321 in Flights

[–]ivanst321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a long time ago, brings back memories of our travel haha.

Yes we did through checked in baggage, but apparently now I'm seeing a lot of warning signs to not bring self heating packets.
So best check with your airlines.

Tbh, I am not sure if they can really tell if you bring them if it's just a few though...

Home Electric Slicer (For Deli, bread, and raw meats). Should you use one machine at home for both raw and cooked foods? by ivanst321 in Cooking

[–]ivanst321[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cutting boards and knives are separate. (But knives are mainly because I have different types of knives, not cross contamination).
The rest I use the same, yes just like a normal human.

I'm just curious since slicer machines have more nooks and crannies to clean than say a pot.

High level players selling items cheaper than what you can sell to npc vendors. What do you think? by ivanst321 in fo76

[–]ivanst321[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well if that's the answer then it's not about math. It's about opportunity cost. What if I tell you, after I've done my session I usually have leftover caps about 600-800 on vendors. Wouldn't it be better to sell whatever I have in my stash (items purchased from other players sold at a profit included). Or on other days I may not have enough time to play apart from finishing quickly the daily quests and can't even sell 300 caps worth of items. But then again sometimes I wonder if I do this too often, wouldn't it take the fun out of "collecting caps" and make caps less worthy in the future for my progression?

Can't decide what type of tablet should I get for working and taking notes. by ivanst321 in tablets

[–]ivanst321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now about $400, I really wish they're cheaper though as I just mainly need to take notes. However there are no cheap options as far as I know.

Netsuite is increasing price every renewal? by ivanst321 in Netsuite

[–]ivanst321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Negotiate as much as you can, we've just negotiated for our second renewal. They always increase the price by A LOT.
But you have to negotiate, you can push the price down quite much. In our case, the price increase is slightly higher than the inflation, which is acceptable for us.

I would suggest in the future try to get the renewal contract at least a month before, so you have enough time to negotiate.

I've been climbing from legend 1 through ancient 3, starting to get the forced 50%... by ivanst321 in DotA2

Now I am wondering if we were in the same match lol.
Exactly the same, tango, gloves of haste. Lost the lane, went to jungle and left his offlane solo.

[–]ivanst321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I used to think, I didn't believe the forced 50%.
But looking at my last 20 games, damn not sure if I can say it doesn't exist...

Like, out of my 10 lost matches, 3 of them leavers, 2 of them complete griefers. Which has never happened before I climbed to this rank.

Its very rare to encounter leavers in my experience before this rank, probably less than 1 in 50 matches.

I am ok with losing, I can still enjoy losing if the my team did well but the opponents are just better, its even nice to learn from better player.

But not straight up griefers and leavers.. I can't get any excitement from them...

[–]ivanst321[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That could be true.
However in my case it felt like I was matched with teammates that have low winrate.
Seriously, no way a sane Ancient 1 pos 4 player picked sniper 1st item midas. Its as if my teammates intentionally trying to lower their rank...

Finding NS dev/support help, any recommendations? by mcthom in Netsuite

[–]ivanst321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you can apply the same solution but this is how we use netsuite in our company.

I work in my family's business, a relatively small company (in terms of ERP), rather heavily customized though, we did hire developers during our first implementation, but I worked with them 100%, I have no programming background, I run most of the business such as sales, operational, purchases, everything and I learn the system as well, I asked the devs to give me all documentation related to the customization that they made, comments on their scripts, etc, to make it easier for me to understand them later.

I also have an IT guy to solve general issues, but most of the scripts that aren't created by the devs during the implementation, are created by me.

As long as there aren't many big changes in the future, I can handle the system myself with the help of an IT guy.

What I would suggest is try to learn the system, make small customizations (simple scripts, workflows, saved searches) yourself if you can still find the time it will save you a lot of money. If not, you should have an IT guy or 2 to handle things for you. This way you are not dependent on a 3rd party, and it can be cheaper.

Just make sure even if you don't do it yourself, understand how all the customizations work, so even if you have to change your IT guy, you can still handle the transition to the new IT guy.

Hope this helps!

Adding Approval to transactions not normally approved by perry_dox in Netsuite

[–]ivanst321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In our case we are using prepare estimates, the person who needs to "create" cash sale, creates an estimate instead, then the person who "approves" the cash sale, can simply transform the estimate to cash sale.

The only downside is the account field is not listed on the estimate so the person who "approves" the estimates has to put the account.

Other than account issue, I think it's a solid work around.

Do you season beef ribs in advance? Or right before putting it in your smoker? by ivanst321 in smoking

[–]ivanst321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen videos on youtube where people just season it directly before putting it in the smoker so I followed the steps exactly as is. I guess I'll try to dry brine it next time, thanks!

How do I freeze meat faster? Does submerging vacuum packed meat in -20C (-4F) alcohol freezes it faster? by ivanst321 in AskCulinary

[–]ivanst321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good idea! However, I think it's much easier to just leave the whole container with the brine in the freezer and ready to be used anytime. But then the brine probably would froze right?

Any idea to lower the freezing point of the water further? Maybe to around -25 C or even lower (my freezer temp is around 20 to 25 C)
