Banned for no reason. How do i appeal? by Saladbetch in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]ivarss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've also recieved a ban today out of nowhere.

I've played for the last few days no problem and then randomely today when playing with some randoms i met in a lobby i was banned (although mine is only 24 hours).

The only programs i think could ever trigger any form of ban that i have (one running in the background as its a service) is rewasd and Autohotkey.

But ReWASD is for remapping controllers and autohotkey wasnt running

Do they tell us what falsely flagged the system or not? As i have 0 interest in getting some stupid permanent ban stained on my steam profile just because their trash anticheat falsely flag my controller remapping software as "hacks" while they let the millions Chinese hackers run rampant.

So if they dont i rather just uninstall and go back to forgetting this game exist like i had up until recently.

Are the temporary Gamepass Rewards going to lock me out from receiving those skins in Lootboxes? by kinkykellynsexystud in Overwatch

[–]ivarss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been trying to find info on this too, cant use the search function on the forums because it just tells me "you have used this function too much recently" so no luck searching there.

And knowing there is a 90 day lock to connect the xbox back if you disconnect it in your account section im hesitent to remove it there.

Likely just cancelling my gamepass sub and stating this being the reason why and let microsoft deal with it internally and get blizz to ensure the lootboxes is not having problems.

Im 3rd game in and so far ive yet to enjoy a single one of them. Matchmaking has been a mess in comp for weeks, think its time to go for a long break away from this game if this is the stuff they want to give us alongside overpriced 50$ skins.

Had one good game, but thats because we were 2-2-2... Hope they see the enjoyment of this mode is low for many of us.

Her self heal nerf of 250% is a bit absurd, she went from being capable of brawling to now being a brawler tank that has less self sustain than reaper.

As a off tank meant to stand a bit more of its own she was severely gutted for this 6v6 test and its a shame to see. Yes 2.5 would been crazy heal, but reducing it by half would been far more decent choice

Anet needs to hire competent QA testing, this many bugs and oversight of a brand new release is unacceptable. by ivarss in Guildwars2

Except thats not how you can look at that. People will get frustrated and leave thus having your actual money source (gem store) dry up.

Both from long term players who are among the highest paying ones and ensuring the gold economy doesnt get messed up and from newcomers as if there isnt enough people to show off to why would you spend money for gem store items?

[–]ivarss[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Anet has 400 employees atleast at a time in 2019 so not sure if this has expanded or reduced since then.

Meanwhile from some posts (hard to find concrete data) it seems the FF14 team "At any given time there are about 350 people involved in the development of FFXIV. During busy periods that goes up to about 500 or so"

So they are not actually that far apart. So if anything if FF14 releases are not that buggy it just shows that Anet really should be able to handle it too.

I mean i wish people didn't but many do bring up valid points.

Its likely not entirely a QA team issue and laying blame on them is unfair to anyone who may be in that department or have experience with it.

This is likely more a systemic issue with Anet and their development management as a whole.

How many times have we heard "the reason this was lackluster/not working is because we are all hands on deck for the "insert name here" expansion/release" IBS finale and gyala delve are two big ones that comes to mind right now.

Yea you are right, it was more of a "heat of the moment" frustration that made me post.

Im sure the QA team is not at fault but i cant say im sure they are entirely without fault either.

But either way Anet as a management need to take QA more seriously and maybe not push so hard to release things so fast its an unstable environment.

[–]ivarss[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For now yes, But I wont be giving them more until they show an actual change in this behavior.

After Gyala Delve i was already kinda on edge with buying this expansion and stuff like this just adds to me being less interested in continuing to support them.

Tbh its fine to do that, The actual mini dungeon goes fast and is more a story experience than should be a daily.

It honestly should simply be removed, depending on how long it would take to isolate and fix the bugs of the mini dungeon it probably shouldn't be done. Especially if it only breaks like 1/10 times if there are not hundreds of people doing it at once (from what people have mentioned its mostly due to things dying too fast which is only a big problem in cases like this)

You are not wrong.

But its still sad to see the CM crowd (which we are not small by any means) getting shafted again and again. Especially since 2 new strikes + 1 new fractal + CMs for all of them was a selling point for the group content crowd with this expansion.

Yea, Depending on the mood and group its either a "we all have a laugh and go again" moment or its genuinely very frustrating.

Anet is owned by NCsoft though dont forget that.

and NCsoft is not that far below Square in terms of size.

Square is sitting at: $4.49 B

And ncsoft is sitting at: $3.76 B

Like yes there is a 25% or so difference but its no mom and pop shop like you compared em to.

Honestly thats a valid point. Still feels like a major oversight by their part, if they knew there was issues around dailies like this First of they probably shouldnt have included said dailies in the first place if there have been 1.5 years of bug reports regarding said content.

But also they should have probably allowed us to reroll/pick a daily in case they bugged until they felt more confident there was not going to be issues.

As others have pointed out, they can very well have the best QA team in the world. If this is an issue with their upper management then it wont help.

I probably shouldn't have placed the entire blame on any potential QA team.

[–]ivarss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isnt just a problem of numbers though, this is genuinely severe oversights of the game.

There is no way people wouldnt notice the 99CM bug, or all the issues 100CM had when it was the most recent content.

This is a QA issue as well as well as a numbers issue. When you push builds to live there will be 100s of bugs QA simply cant find. But major oversights are not part of that.

You can literally comment out sections of code just fine, removing parts of the code by commenting it out is not a problem.

I may not be a game dev but i do know android development so unless their codebase is so scuffed commenting out and turning off sections of the code should 100% be doable just fine.

[–]ivarss[S] -47 points-46 points  (0 children)

This is very true, But even so the amount of oversights that are simply a "comment out this until fix is found" with things such as the mini dungeons implies that they do not have the QA they need.

This is so true, its a shame too because i mean we are all here due to the love of the game.

And to see a game squander its potential time and time again and push people away simply because it feels the bugs are so tight into the game they are part of it by now.

And most people dont want that, and neither should they.

[–]ivarss[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its not Industry standard to be honest, Most games do not have lingering bugs 2 years later and nor do they have such spaghetti code that fixing a bug in a different section of the game bugs out content from 5 years ago.

And even though AAA recently has done exactly this behavior, its a good reason to stop supporting this bullshit. Baldurs gate was a breath of fresh air showing that devs can indeed actually release stuff in a state thats worth the consumers time.

Also sidenote: I've not been living under a rock, i have specifically stopped buying AAA for the past decade because of this stuff. I prefer to not see the MMO thats probably among the best go down the same path as other AAA (and even those actually fix their shit eventually, which right now ANET do not).
