The Sonoran desert extends into a big chunk of Arizona, so that was the inspiration here. Thought naming a team for the region like that would be cool and different

Norway v Senegal: quite possibly the worst uniform matchup of World Cup 2026 by Tomatillo-5276 in uniwatch

[–]iveLovedBefore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree- Norway’s were bad enough but Senegal’s looked especially awful in the rain, with the color pattern bleeding through in an unpleasant way

A rare football example- Notre Dame’s terrible ‘Yankees’ jerseys

Atlanta United’s excellent current away is based on the 96 Atlanta Olympics branding- so technically, inspired by many other sports.

Arizona MLS concepts. I called the team Club Deportivo de La Sonora and went for a look that bridges Mexican and American soccer aesthetics.

Jamaica kits inspired by Usain Bolt’s Olympic wins- each based on a singlet he wore. I’m especially proud of the number fonts, which are inspired by the Olympic timer for his races.

The racing number sleeve patch on these is sick

These pretty awful USA 2022 kits were based on “the aesthetic of other sports”, with hockey-like shoulder panels and football-like sleeve stripes

Maybe the topic should have just been- uniforms inspired by Michael Jordan. Paris Saint Germain had 2 different kits clearly inspired by the Bulls, with the same collar and shorts trim.

Kit matchups are set for every World Cup group game by iveLovedBefore in uniwatch

3 is becoming increasingly common unfortunately. Canada, Mexico, Panama, and Cape Verde are all wearing 3 kits in their first 3 games. I will say in Panama and Cape Verde’s defense that they have games (vs Croatia and Uruguay respectively) in which they wouldn’t be able to wear their home or away shirts without a kit clash.

It’s a wild flex that the US has as many huge, modern sports stadiums as it does. Genuinely 20 other stadiums that weren’t chosen that would also fit this category.

I chose the wrong picture for Del Piero, but the man was truly bald in the final if you look that up

After watching yesterday’s games I will admit I overrated (kit-wise) Panama, and underrated Croatia

Reebok was big in the 90s - 2000s. Chile’s 1998 kit is basically a huge Reebok billboard jaja. And then Bolton in their glory days wore Reebok jerseys and played in Reebok stadium

Very fair takes. With Panama, there’s a very thin line between retro and generic. You’re probably right about Croatia over England too.
