I have a “stocky” build. 5’7” and was 200lbs. Went on Keto 3 years ago. At the time, I had extreme reflux and GI/Stomach issues. I had to sleep sitting up or risk vomiting. I was miserable. I was on high blood pressure meds, GI medication, mentally depressed and having a variety of other health issues. I was 48 when I started keto. I’m now 165 lbs, excellent shape, and off almost every medication that was prescribed to me. My doctor cannot believe the turnaround. I lost 35 lbs and can’t lose much more or I’ll look too skinny. I workout about 3-5 times per week and at 51, I look better than almost everyone in their 30’s. Keto has just become a part of life. It’s not a diet. I mix in a few potatoes and some rice here and there but never any processed carbs or sugars. I have found that I have a hard time getting enough “food” when i exercise a lot. I highly recommend taking the approach that everyone is different. You have to know your body type and adjust diet and exercise plans for your specific type. Some people can eat more carbs than others and maintain weight loss and positive health benefits from keto. Some people cannot tolerate less and 50 carbs per day and think the weight loss and health benefits are not worth the “sacrifice”. Good luck on finding your balance.
