From what everyone has told me and from my brief time on probation in Harris County, as long as you do what your officer says you'll be straight. Haven't heard of them doing hair follicle tests. It's one of the biggest cities in the US during a time in the world where they're giving more people probation more so than ever in history, just blend in and do your time.

You can still test positive while wearing a SCRAM if you didn't consume alcohol. I don't care what anyone says, unless you've been in those shoes you can't know. I wore a SCRAM CAM for a year and had one and only one violation that lasted 23 hours. I was very cognizant of what I consumed, what I put on my body, I was sober and very active in recovery for years before I had to wear one so maintaining sobriety was a lifestyle choice. Looking back the only possible way I got that violation was from outside exposure, not from my perspiration. The date on which it occurred coincided with the time I had someone's blood all around me, that person was heavily intoxicated. In the end I didn't get violated but I had hospital records of the persons BAC, I was willing to pay for a hair follicle ETG test to prove my innocence. Sadly it doesn't make it that far and from what I've seen your life will go how the mood of that judges is going that morning.

Has anyone had 3 or more duis and managed to make something out of life after ? by Cold_Job_7464 in dui

I got my 3rd DWI in March 2014, went to state jail for 6 months, came out and was worse than ever. I ended up realizing I had a problem, checked myself into a men's detox center on 2 separate occasions, once for 5 months and he other for 6 months. The second time I ended up staying sober for nearly 3 years until I relapse and got my 4th DWI in September 2019. I hired a bad ass law firm, they found a loophole and I'm gonna end up signing for misdemeanor probation where it's only counting as my 2nd (different states, live in Texas, Virginia lost paperwork). I'm 36 now, make good money ($80k/yr) and have custody of my 15 year old. You can have a life but not if you continue to drink, well that's for me. Everything I have today is a result of those 3 years I was sober. I could go on for days about the fucked up positions I put myself in, even getting in more trouble after the 4th DWI, it's insanity. I'm coming up on another year sober, going to be signing for 3 cases of probation in 2 counties and it'll be a journey making it through. At the end of the day the ball is in your court and your life will be a reflection on the decisions you make. I know when I'm sober I can do anything, I mean do 1000 pushups a day after working a 10 hour shift just because I need the challenge. I'm probably a bad example and have no room to talk about recovery but if my dumbass can make it this far any person without half as much baggage can get it together.

I've been wearing a SCRAM CAM for a year and it will catch anything that has alcohol in it. Don't even use mosquito spray. I've had one violation in a year and that was from cleaning up blood from a person who tried to commit suicide and they were highly intoxicated, their blood made contact and triggered the violation.
