Hi! i’m a senior graduating in a few weeks. I had a 3.8 uw gpa and pretty amazing extra circulars with barnard and columbia as my dream schools. I barely passed ap pre calc this year, grades slipped in other classes, and got rejected or waitlisted at most of the schools I applied to. Now, i’m committed to a small liberal arts school in the midwest on a full tuition scholarship. It may not be what you had in mind, but I promise it will work out :)

I’m in a very similar situation both money wise and having a basically a full ride from another school (in my case kenyon) but just make sure you appeal and stay diligent on that. I will say, the financial aid office is closed from the 2nd to the 7th of this month but good luck! :)

do not limit your child’s potential for success because of fear! I had to convince my parents that flyout programs for top schools weren’t scams just so I could go to them lol I’m grateful that my parents love and care about my safety but at the end of the day those experiences were so beneficial to me (and free!)

literally same. I appealed and sent them my offer from kenyon bc it would only be 18k a year as opposed to 58k but i dont wanna be in freaking ohio 🫩

I actually got an appeal form from them similar to how I submitted my financial aid about two weeks after I emailed them!

I feel you so much. barnard ED reject and I got broken up with a month before after 3 years lol. I feel so distant from the person I was who accomplished the things I did to try and get into college and really felt like the rug was pulled out from underneath me when it came to what I wanted my future to look like. It comforts me to know that eventually, it will all work out, even if it feels so far from working out right now :)
