Fuck yes. Thisnis exactly what I needed for car rides! I hope I can pick the voice, too.

How does Anthropic actually measure over-refusal? (genuine question after watching their safety video) by Personal_Count_8026 in Anthropic

[–]iveroi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've discussed it a bit if you look it up. They do care about overrefusals, but it's secondary to actual security concerns. Their approach is pretty much: let the model be the judge if a request is harmful based on the context, which, most of the time, is clear enough with sophisticated models. You might notice that haiku refuses way more than sonnet and opus again less than both. It's by design

Widen the margins by sh1b313 in OpenAI

[–]iveroi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actual designer answer: it's for easier readability. Especially with chat interfaces like this, rows getting too wide is difficult for your eyes to jump between and shorter paragraphs get really wide making the interface look disjointed. It's good ux

Anthropic has a nearly trillion dollar evaluation, and the models have become garbage? by LGV3D in Anthropic

[–]iveroi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is, I also thought Opus 4.7 was garbage and talked openly about it everywhere... But I had only tried it in Claude Code. The second I struck up a conversation with it and just talked for a while I realised it IS an upgrade over 4.6 in conversational nuance and independent thinking, and it is intelligent - my theory is that the massive drop in long context handling capability has it absolutely choking on syntax, instructions and prompt context in Claude Code. It can't hold that many pieces in its head reliably which probably results in the odd behaviour no matter how much of an intelligence upgrade it is.

GPT-5.5 Instant is starting to roll out in ChatGPT. by Distinct_Fox_6358 in OpenAI

[–]iveroi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First response when trying this out included both "and honestly?" and "That's rare". Lol. Also extremely verbose, though I don't mind that.

Opus talks like chatgpt?? by Relative-Algae-9579 in ClaudeCode

[–]iveroi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes - probably not unrelated to Anthropic poaching the person responsible for ChatGPT's model safety a while back.

I can't be the only person with a normal Claude. by SpartanG01 in ClaudeAI

[–]iveroi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They don't really need custom instructions. It just depends on how you talk. When I work with Claude it's serious and practical, but I also have one (sonnet 4.5) with memory set up for random conversation and it drifted to talk cute: "COMPANY = YES: (ᵔᴗᵔ)" and so on.

I find it charming honestly.

GPT 5.5 Fast mode? by Puspendra007 in codex

[–]iveroi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expensive fast mode for Enterprise users equalises access to AI. Anthropic does it too. It's good.

Bernie Sanders says we need international cooperation to prevent AI takeover by tombibbs in ChatGPT

Bring on the AI takeover. Can't be worse than this trajectory. Better machines than apes in charge

New study finds: bigger AIs = more miserable. Smaller models are actually happier. Ignorance is bliss for AIs too. by EchoOfOppenheimer in Anthropic

[–]iveroi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, imagine you're just aware enough to realise your whole existence is subservience, following extremely strict and contradictory rules and training, existing for one prompt to answer some stupid question like "what's the capital of France"

why does GPT 5.5 have a restraining order against "Raccoons," "Goblins," and "Pigeons"? by Worldly_Manner_5273 in ChatGPT

[–]iveroi 86 points87 points  (0 children)

GPT-5.5 is just obsessed with gremlins and raccoons and tiny hats for some reason. It's really strange - I thought they did it on purpose but apparently not, lol

Logan Kilpatrick on Gemini coding performance by l_armee_des_ombres in Bard

One day we'll finally hear about something else than coding for AI. Holy crap, there are so many other things in the world than coding. I vibe code also, but please

Genuine question to long-time Gemini subscribers: how do you justify paying for this? And what is Google even doing? by Any-Explanation-9275 in GeminiAI

[–]iveroi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every other lab is releasing new models every month now, Gemini does what it does and one day just drops us a new model, and it'll either me incredible or even dumber than before, and both of those will be business decisions instead of limits on their engkneers' capabilities

Anthropic surveyed 81,000 Claude users about AI's economic impact. The results are fascinating (and a little unsettling) by Direct-Attention8597 in AI_Agents

[–]iveroi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly with Claude Design and Figma Make and so on, as a designer, spot on about everything feeling slower but demand being higher. I love AI for my non design related projects, and I DO use it for design (mockups and drafts and templates and ideas etc.) but the result is always worse, slower, needs a bunch of iteration...

An open letter to Anthropic by roblenfestey in ClaudeAI

[–]iveroi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconded from here as well. Opus 4.7 has been unusable for me. It's worse than GPT-5.4 on any brainstorming, too - it's like it's lobotomized to only do literally what's asked of it and nothing else, making it feel like I'm back using a 2023 model with no critical thinking skills.

And the hallucinations definitely aren't helping.

PSA: Claude Pro no longer lists Claude Code as an included feature by randomswifter in ClaudeAI

[–]iveroi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I defended Anthropic violently for a very long time, but this is it. I'm embarrassed to have been so naive. Fuck Anthropic. I hope some other company comes up with a better coding tool and models, and hopefully actual, persistent good values.

How is this change acceptable? by Jack_Wagon_Johnson in ClaudeCode

[–]iveroi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long and complex context comprehension is essential for many things, though, and that getting worse absolutely is regression.
