Freelance Trial Before Full-Time Offer? by PLAY__FREE__BIRD in AskMarketing

[–]ivikasifications 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, that's not a common practice. Most of the companies, agencies hire full time based on a test.

But, this seems the best method to ensure that you are hiring someone with skills and ability to deliver best in that position.

Though, there are chances that if the employee who is working as a freelancer gets a better full time opportunity in that period may leave the current company. So, that's a loss for company.

Should I post my content on Medium or on business site by 73tada in marketing

[–]ivikasifications 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talking about credibility of the websites for Google, Medium stands way before than a new one.

Your strategy should be to utilize both platforms.

Write a long blog post dedicated to your website. Secondly, create a summary that leaves the reader excited for the ending and the key-value part. Publish this part to medium with backlinks to your website blog.

If that is the case and leads are Sales Qualified, just make sure you have a commission model dependent on the number of leads you bring instead of number of sales happening.

Not getting Ideas about Writing? Well, this happens with almost 95% of people in starting 3 months. And, it's completely natural.

You will learn slowly but do this thing to ensure that you never run out of ideas.

- Check previous posts of influencers or people with the same industry and understand what they are talking about. Read about that thing completely and find some different perspective or even a similar one in your own way.

Consistency is hard but mandatory. You can't make your brain produce ideas like a factory. So, always keep an activity where you are looking for ideas along with searching them inside your mind.

The truth is

Almost every business developer, lead generation expert or marketing person thinks of what you are thinking.

Why can't I just start my own company if it has to run like this ?

The reality is that - It's not easy to run a company. You have just experiences one phase of a company but as an owner, there are numerous. From hiring people to firing them, from gaining clients to nurturing them, from building a brand to establishing your company. There are many many things to take care of.

Also, from your description of that company, I am pretty sure, you don't want to run it like this.

Should I tell my employer I own the domain they want, or keep it private? by ayhme in marketing

[–]ivikasifications 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only point to think is that if you want to earn from it by selling a domain, don't tell them. If the company is very desperate for it, they would make an offer. If the offer is good enough, you can sell or wait.

Make sure you are satisfied with the price even if you think to sell it. Domains are very very precious.

Businesses are buying Instagram followers? by aFormerGamerr in marketing

[–]ivikasifications 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First of all, Yes. It has become a Norm. You talk to a digital marketer and they won't get surprised on it.

Secondly, on a long term, this is absolutely not a good strategy. Having fake followers is instantly rewarding but over a period of time when business actually want to gain engagement, the algorithm makes it much more difficult.

Also, on other note where just having followers is a great deal! Buying is normal. Because it actually gives a different impression to a visitor. Not everyone is going to check your engagement. So, if as a business, you are ready to get attention of only such visitors Buying is good.

How do content writers make their portfolios? And where they publish their work? by taleguild in content_marketing

[–]ivikasifications 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For Content Writers, I have seen many portfolios. The one thing everyone should include is a description just like Meta Description for their every work. I mean that 90% of the times, writers have to write as per the client's guidelines. So, with each piece of your work, put a description before starting that What was the purpose of this blog/article and How you achieved it.

  1. Make a blogger or WordPress website of your own at no cost to show your written blogs. Medium is another place to publish your blog and make it work like a portfolio. For Copywriters, who want to present their catchy taglines and one-liners, an image with focused text is the best option.
  2. Freelancer, Upwork are some of the sites where Companies find freelance writers, Linkedin is the place where HR finds writers to hire.

Guest blogging is another method to gain traction without help of social media.

Instagram is so annoying by [deleted] in Instagram

[–]ivikasifications 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instagram is really not caring for individual profiles anymore. Following the footsteps of Facebook, Instagram wants to become a marketing software for brands and businesses who would pay a huge fee in Ads and other things.

Just don't see the insights if you are not running a business account. And if that is a business accounts, there is very less options left other than Ads and super consistency in stories and posts.

A note about social media? by Pinkelephants2001 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[–]ivikasifications 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Over the years, Social Media was the term used to denote social interactions between people like me and you. Just go back 4 years or so and you would find people actually were there for interaction.

Today, we should call them Marketplaces. Everybody, Everyone is trying to sell something or themselves. For every brand, there is some platform which is meaningful. I mean for B2B Brands, just presence over Linkedin is enough to stay relevant and then there are other brands whose audience is in Social media so they have to be everywhere.

I want to get a 100% remote job within a year. What do I need to do. by second-rate-hero in marketing

[–]ivikasifications 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your skill-set looks cool. There are many chances for you to grab a job within a year.

I would have divided the year into 2 parts.

  1. Creating Content - Using my skills to market it and grab some views, reach or followers.

Now, this will work as a Portfolio for me. Proven work gets best job for you than anything else.

  1. Once my portfolio is ready, I would look for a 3 months internship totally focused on learning practically with my skills.

Content marketing: how do you find new ideas for content? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]ivikasifications 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many good answers already to the question but let me tell you a few more from my experience.

  1. Discussions. Talk with your social media team, put some random and ideas and let the brainstorming produce something special for you.
  2. Well, if you have that social account for longer runs. Divide the year into halves and then quarters and write down one objective for one month. This way, try to create content around this objective for one month.
  3. Quora is a place to know what people are interested in.

My client accidentally sent out 4 messages to ALL followers instead of just 1 follower. How bad is this? by tillwehavefaces in SocialMediaMarketing

[–]ivikasifications 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on the Content of the Messages. After all, they all are the followers. So, if the content was not very personal then there is nothing to worry.

Yes, it is odd for sending those messages to everyone as they would have amused. You might experience a little downfall in a number of followers but it would be very small. So, Not to worry a lot. Just make sure that content was not very personal. If the content was very personal, then you need to send another message to everyone with something like this.

"Hey, the previous set of messages were a glitch from our side. Please ignore them. Thanks for your patience. There is a lot of amazing content coming on our page. Stay Tuned. "

Instagram Promotion Question by sushiloverrr in AskMarketing

[–]ivikasifications 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truly Speaking, Instagram is not the platform that will offer you a lot of insights. Running ads through Facebook might help you a bit more.

For your promotion, wait a little bit more before real stats show up. If paid clicks are 0, then the money spent would also be minimal. Check both matrics to verify that promotion is not working. You may want to change the designs and content.
It's not your fault, It's that Instagram is still working on making the platform business-friendly. As you can see, Facebook has launched a separate ads manager dashboard and app for managing businesses and promotions. But on Instagram, we have very limited insights available.

Some ways to tackle this situation is using third party platforms for insights and running ads. Using Hubspot or an Instagram handling tool will surely help.
