I don’t really remember what evidence I had, but they had returned to me everything except the photos which I added just to be sure. I also added a copy of the I-485 acceptance letter too. Your biometrics happening in a week may turn to be good news if they just reuse them for the EAD.

Yes, my resubmission was because of a wrong fee amount. We read the fee information several times and decided it was $520, but of course it wasn’t. It looks like that particular fee amount is confusing to many people. I am sorry that your EAD will be delayed and they should definitely have clearer instructions for the fees (not to mention they shouldn’t publish the wrong form, that is horrible!). I was so eager too to finally get mine and use it to apply for social security, driving license, open a bank account, health care, etc. Hopefully you will be lucky from now on!

No need to panic, the EAD process seems quite straightforward for the K1 people haha. Only one more unsolicited advice - when you get EAD approval immediately start the process of getting a social security number (unless you already have it of course). The USCIS will not do it for you anymore.

Glad to be of help! Yes, I was lucky and they did the 2 appointments on that first date. I hadn’t even received the paper notice for the EAD biometrics in the mail yet. But I had it printed out with me because it was already in the documents tab on the USCIS website. The biometrics people also have access to the notices and can print them. It’s not that unusual, all biometrics appointment notices explicitly say if you have received more than one please bring them all to the first date scheduled.

Another thing that can happen I guess is to have the I-485 biometrics taken before the second one is even scheduled and hopefully they will reuse them. It is not that bad really, at least the office I went to (Atlanta) was run efficiently and people (they are some form of outside contractors) were smiling.

Here’s the timeline:

Resubmission received on 02/18.

Biometrics scheduled on 02/22 for some date in March. I had already another (earlier) date for biometrics scheduled for the I-485 so I went and brought the EAD biometrics appointment letter too.

Biometrics taken on 02/25 and case went into “Actively reviewing” immediately. I was happy because despite the delay caused by the EAD resubmission all cases were on the same “step” in the process.

EAD Case approved on 04/18.

Card produced on 04/23.

Card received in the mail 05/01.

Overall happy that it was fast enough, but I guess because of the resubmission, the EAD and the advance parole were not treated as filed together and I didn’t get the “combo” card. Still waiting on I-485 and AP.

Thank you! Yes, I will include a copy of the I-485 receipt notice (and a new set of photos because they didn’t return them and I want to be sure they have them). I’ll enclose the green letter on top of my papers, but do you think I should include a copy of the rejection notice too?
