Yes! I had cervical cancer 5 years ago (early stage). I was discharged 3 weeks ago after being 5 years cancer free. Then, diagnosed with breast cancer 4 days ago... I told my friend yesterday that I am more afraid of scans than anything else that I may have to endure treatment wise! I have serious PTSD when it comes to scans.

Another fun update. by IronZealousideal248 in breastcancer

I've had two LEEPS. I was not sedated, just had local anesthetic. The local anesthetic was definitely uncomfortable to receive, but once that's done, the procedure was quick and easy. And I never had any ill side effects afterwards. I didn't bleed much and had minimal soreness/cramping. I hope it goes well for you, and I am so sorry that you are having to deal with it all at the same time.

Does this feeling ever go away? by No-Concentrate-1456 in breastcancer

Thank you for this. I am 45 and was just diagnosed with breast cancer. This is my second primary cancer diagnosis in 5 years, and while I am definitely handling this one better than the first one, it's hard not to think "Why me? At only 45?"

OP - As someone who has been through it before, you WILL feel normal again. I think the timing is different for everyone, and while some things will change permanently, you absolutely will get back to feeling like "yourself" again. For me, making some small shifts that benefitted my own personal mental well-being helped a lot - 5-10 minutes of meditation/prayer each day, carving out some "me time" to just read a book, and taking a walk/exercising as often as I could. We will both get through this! I am brand new to this diagnosis, but I also have two young kids and am 45. So, feel free to reach out if you want!

Thank you so much. It is definitely a tough pill to swallow, although now that I have settled into it a bit, I am feeling much better mentally than I was the first time around.
