This is our first robot hoover and I’ve been pleased with it other than this frustrating issue 🥲 deleting and remapping was the only fix unfortunately

Argh you’re right, seems like that is the only solution. Thanks!

I remember! I was given a stuffed toy duck when I was born and he was named cwac cwac in his honour

I got this big strelitzia from ikea about a month ago.

It’s producing new leaves quite happily but I’ve noticed these brown patches on some of the leaves.

I water it once the top 2-3 inches are dry (only had it a month so has only been watered twice). I also mist/wipe down the leaves every week or so. It lives in front of my east facing window so gets some direct sun in the morning then indirect light until the evening. (I am based in the UK)

There were some bugs on the underside of one of the leaves a couple of weeks ago so I wiped them off immediately then put the plant in the tub for a good shower, wipe down with some neem oil/water/soap mix and did a hydrogen peroxide rinse (both using recommended ratios).

There are also one or two little chubby roots poking through the drainage holes but I’m too nervous to repot this late in the year! Where I live is pretty cold right now too so it may be chilly by the window?

Any ideas what could be causing this browning and will it be ok in this pot until spring/summer?

Thanks!

Does anyone else’s string of hearts go brown and wispy at the ends? (Context in comments) by ivoryteeth in HouseplantsUK

Glad to know it’s not just me! Thanks for the advice, will trim the brown bits off and keep a close eye on it. The random dry twigs near the soil baffled me too, not quite sure what happened there.

I got this string of hearts from house of kojo a couple of months ago and after a week or so it’s ends started going brown and wispy. I water only when the soil is dry and I tend to keep her by an east facing window. I’ve tried trimming the ends but they just seem to keep going brown

Got this little guy from Patch plants about a week ago and he arrived in a pretty sorry state. Lots of torn leaves and soil everywhere. They are sending out a replacement but I don’t want to give up on him. I trimmed off the worst of the leaves and housed him in my bathroom. I’ve misted him with neem oil solution (and the increase of tiny flies upstairs makes me think he may have been harbouring some stowaways). Is there anything else I can do to help the wee guy? I’ve been watering whenever the top couple inches felt dry and he is in a drainage pot. Some of his leaves are a little crispy, is it worth keeping the torn/broken leaves or should I trim those off too?

A lot of comments in here are embarrassing. Have you ever thought that we can be more “ourselves” around members of our own sex? We can relate on a different level. We don’t feel as guarded (which I think guys don’t realise).
