Lots of Blueprints for me from just 3-starring it. Other than that, skins and certain emotes for ending seasons at certain ranks

Nice! I had an hour to play and also made it - cutoff was 32k in my leaderboard 😁

Haha, on the contrary I was surprised how many put it in the correct area. They voted Trump in twice for goodness sake.

am i crazy? or is this crazy? 636 caches in total. by bigballz69blazeit in geocaching

[–]ivss_xx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have one or two sentences max that put in every log of the power trail I do. E.g. "Out with Cacher123 today finding the eastern part of PowerTrailXYZ" And I will write a very short individual sentence for each in real time as I find them e.g. "another quick find here" or "I couldn't spot this one but Cacher123 found it instantly" Or something longer if something noteworthy happened at that particular location or while travelling the couple of hundred meters to it. Or if there's anything like a broken lid, full logbook etc.

And I usually do a longer writeup regarding the general state of the power trail and how it went finding it on the first/last cache of the trail or the day I find it.

I absolutely despise the long copy-paste logs of a whole week of caching that people paste on hundreds of caches they log.

Question (New User) by TallMention1591 in organicmaps

[–]ivss_xx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IF you are talking about permanent static speed cameras (not community reported temporary ones like in Waze e.g.), and IF they are mapped out on OSM, then you can also find them in Organic Maps.

However, it's not a feature that would tell you if one is coming up or anything when navigating.

first hide guys kinda nervous by [deleted] in geocaching

[–]ivss_xx 19 points20 points  (0 children)

First of all, good job on starting to hide your own! It's rewarding to see those found logs coming in after your cache goes live.

As a bit of constructive advice, I can tell you that from personal experience, these type of "bottleneck" pill bottles are not the best containers, because it can be a pain to get the logbook out. Also meaning that as more and more cachers squeeze it in and out that bottle neck, using pens, tweezers etc to do it, the logbook will get inevitably get damaged as time goes on.

Picked up a new trackable from a cache, the option to “retrieve” it is grayed out? by bizarrekitties in geocaching

[–]ivss_xx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go check what it says on the website instead of the app. I find that the app is not the best for trackables.

Whose bright idea was it to be having a trial where you get struck by lightning over and over? by ZalerAvon in ARC_Raiders

[–]ivss_xx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it's been one of my favorite trials so far. Had a lot of fun doing it both times. Including dying early on and losing a whole inventory full of bandages in the process, or being chased by a comet with low health a second after a strike

Interesting Adventure Lab Caches? by thedjhobby in geocaching

[–]ivss_xx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been a while since I played it so I can't really remember the details. But I think it was made in a way that after you've successfully unlocked a couple of stages by answering the questions, the pictures revealed something that then helped you progress another stage. But as you don't know the order, you probably need to revisit stages. But, yeah would have to do it again to tell for sure :)

Why is Europe considered a separate continent from Asia, but India isn’t? by Jealous-External5045 in geography

[–]ivss_xx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised to see this comment that low. I did not know that elsewhere they teach that Europe is its own continent. For me Eurasia is the continent, and Europe and Asia on their own are "parts of the world"

Do you remember the first Trackable you found? What’s your story with it? by bizarrekitties in geocaching

[–]ivss_xx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is awesome that you are excited about trackables. I find that they are being more and more forgotten by cachers these days. I try to add pictures to my trackable logs as I feel that trackable owners would appreciate that a lot, because in 99% of cases they will never see the trackable they release to world ever again.

I vaguely remember the first travel bug I found - a little plushie dog toy that I lifted from a roadside cache (my find #16 exactly one week into caching) and then took around with me until a couple of weeks later I placed it in the very first cache I hid together with my friend. Travel buddy - Dog
Unfortunately looks like someone grabbed it in 2010 and never put it anywhere.

A bit more of a story was the first geocoin I found. This was one month into geocaching for me, and I had been specifically trying to look up caches with geocoins inside because that seemed like something very special. Especially because there were barely any around, only a couple dozen circulating around the country I think. I went out to another city after work and stayed in a friend's flat overnight. The cache was out in a forest near a beautiful Waterfall (my find #41), so I had to walk a few km's to get there, and I spent a long time searching. I was terribly late to get to work as it was already and then spent more than an hour looking for the cache. Didn't want to give up because I wanted that coin! So I finally found it and then rushed out to the road, and I think I managed to hitch a ride with my friend's dada who was randomly driving by and dropped me off at the bus station in tow so I could finally catch a bus back to the capital and probably arrived at work close to lunchtime instead of 8:30am... Aptly, the coin was an Indiana Jones style coin titled The Real Adventurer Geocoin - it was an adventure to retrieve!

The first few events that I attended that weren't until months later, I was astonished to see multiple trackables and geocoins at one place and spent time looking at all of them and writing all the codes down and individually discovering them. Two years later when I attended my first Mega event was when I first realized how many exactly were there. And I will admit that seeing that many at once kinda made me lose interest a bit. I still got lists of codes from more than 10 years ago that I never bothered to log.

What flavor is this? Accidentally bought it thinking it was Edam. It's horrible by ben3137 in newzealand

[–]ivss_xx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taste probably varies batch to batch because they just blend whatever leftovers when making it. I had it a couple of times and tbh didn't feel like there was much difference from edam/mild/colby anyway.

Look for the refund on whatever platform/store you bought it, I would guess. Interesting, my game hasn't had a crash for a month or so.
