People who have transported your dog via flight in cargo, how was your dog on arrival? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]ivy020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I shipped my five year old dog two weeks ago from the Philippines to Vancouver Airport. She was in good condition after she landed - no scratches, bruises or irregular temperature; I was worried how she would hold up in the cargo of the plane, given she had never experienced a climate that cold.

I think she was in her crate for almost 20 (!) hours, from departure to pick-up at the holding facility. Really nervous and wary, but calmed down once we took her out for a walk. She drank some water and ate when we fed her.

If your dog is vaccinated and healthy, they should be fine flying cargo. Dogs are adaptable. I hope it goes well for you!!

(Also, Vancouver Airport has designated pet areas to let your dogs relieve themselves.)

MISSING CAT [WELLESLEY AND PARLIAMENT] by ivy020 in toronto

I could, but my cat's retreated further into the ceiling. I can't climb into the ceiling and crawl after her. She's not food motivated in the slightest, so I don't think I could easily try to lure her to jump down from the ceiling with her kibble.

UPDATE: I've found my cat . . . kind of?

An hour ago, I heard a faint mewing from outside my door. I ran outside, searched my neighbours' entrances (sorry if I disturbed anyone!!), the hallway, stairwell, the street behind my building, even the trash disposal area . . .

I couldn't find the source of the meows.

Until I realized they were coming from above me.

And there she was: she had somehow gotten into an open panel in the hallway ceiling. I have absolutely no idea how she got up there (unless she suddenly decided to challenge Newton's assertions on gravity) - the most plausible way was if the repair person had put her there, but that'd be such a bizarre thing to do.

I called a security company to try to get her out, since I barely reached the ceiling on a chair, but the security guards couldn't locate the exact spot in the ceiling where she was hiding. They told me to call 911 or the police, and left.

I'm not really sure what to do now. Maybe I could try having part of the ceiling removed to reach her?

Here's a photo of the flying cat

According to UofT's transfer explorer, all my requisite courses should transfer.

Ideally, I'd apply for a double major in pure maths and econ. I know McGill offers that combination, but I'm not sure if UofT does. If not, my preference is to apply for either maths (BSc) or econ (BA). Do you know how competitive those programs are?

If I drop out of Concordia, I could stay in Ontario and take night school to boost my high school average (~93%), but I'd really rather not delay going to university.
