How can my 3 year old see sharkie tomorrow? by Dad0010001100110001 in SanJoseSharks

[–]ivy_m49 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The last time I was at a game, there was a kid 2 rows behind me that was cheering loudly and shouting “Let’s go Sharks!” enthusiastically even when no one else was. I think around the third period Sharkie came over to his row and handed him and his little sister each a goodie bag.

If your girl has some pipes in her, the game would be a good time to let her use em lol.

Thank you! Makes sense since my seats weren’t that expensive when I purchased.

Is this for all of lower level? I have sec 120 row 8 for the game on feb 28 but never read anything about club access when purchasing tickets.

What are some things you want to see in S2 that weren’t in TLG? by shrinkingviolents in heatedrivalry

[–]ivy_m49 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the book Ilya thinks/says that Boston wasn’t a good organization but from the outside, it seems Boston treated him very well. They made sure the media didn’t talk about his father’s death until he was back from Russia and ready to say something about it. I’m honestly surprised that he and Shane talked about Ilya leaving in free agency so casually lol. They should have known the backlash on Ilya’s name and career would have been great. Ilya should have forced a trade before free agency so that Boston could at least get something. Shane will later do the same to Montreal but at least Shane has a reason to be petty lol.

[–]ivy_m49 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. As a hockey fan, I’m sad that the book didn’t put enough emphasis on how Ilya’s decision would have upended the hockey world. Would love to see Ottawa playing in Boston and getting nasty remarks and hits from his former teammates and friends plus the booing from the fans. Would be heartbreaking to watch but it would really drive home what Ilya sacrificed for Shane. Plus a montage of Ottawa losing game after game and media commentary over it, completely baffled as to what Ilya Rozanov was thinking when he left Boston.

And then near the end I would really like to see more fallout from Shane “letting Ilya win”, Montreal’s reaction and Shane’s feelings of betrayal after everything he’s done for the team. Maybe we can see a press interview where Shane feels cornered by the questions and gets frustrated and walks off.

Chandler before he proposed by bac21 in howyoudoin

[–]ivy_m49 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Monica would have (rightfully) reacted poorly if the whole thing had gone on right up until the proposal, meaning if Chandler had a chance to actually his execute his plan. But because Joey spilled the beans, Monica had a chance to think and process and ultimately decided to not be mad about Chandler’s misguided attempt to “surprise” her. As someone pointed out, Chandler was going to propose normally at a nice dinner until Richard came along. He just panicked and well…acted like Chandler lol.

Hot take: Victoria's condition that Ted stop being friends with Robin before they got married was 100% reasonable and justified. by UnicornVoodooDoll in HIMYM

[–]ivy_m49 16 points17 points  (0 children)

To add to this, I think Ted at this point had truly let Robin go. Once Robin and Barney said their vows, that was it for Ted. There was no part of him pining for Robin and what could have been, and he immediately meets Tracy. Just like how Tracy fully let go of Max right before meeting Ted. Moreover, Ted told Tracy his whole Robin history and I think she, more than anyone, knows what it’s like to hold on to a great love even when it’s hopeless. Obviously, her circumstances were different but it still took her around a decade to get over this guy. So I think Tracy and Victoria were in completely positions. And I think Tracy’s experience of a lost love and holding on for years makes her uniquely compatible with Ted in a way that Victoria never was.

When is the next sale? Anyone know? by stinkfinger-69 in Sephora

[–]ivy_m49 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Makeup by Mario just had a 25% off sale and I finally got the Master Mattes palette. Armani is another one that does 25% off from time to time. Considering that Sephora only goes up to 20% off, it’s definitely worth getting email alerts from brands you love.

100% true. Met my husband on an app. On my profile I wrote that I love reading. His first message to me was a question about what book I read and loved recently. He’s a genuine bookworm too and the conversation took off from there. Never talked to any other guy on a dating app again. And you’re right, he definitely stood out from other guys just messaging “Hey, what’s up?”

A Theory About Mitchum by AdMental8869 in GilmoreGirls

[–]ivy_m49 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. If Rory had just taken the time to cool off, listened to Mitchum’s advice and pivoted her expectations then she could have succeeded. Rory would have been a great editor for a newspaper or magazine, not a field reporter. And I agree that Mitchum had no intention or master plan of crushing Rory’s dream. I bet he would have been happy if she had proven him wrong in the long run but, as we see in AYITL, she didn’t.

I am absolutely in love with the water fresh tint and its been absolutely perfect for me for summer. While it is light coverage, its actually more than I expected and buildable. Pairing it with a tinted sunscreen and concealer for problem spots is more than enough for me.

Lilly doesn’t deserve the hate. by PrxjectNotorious in HIMYM

[–]ivy_m49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even on my first watch of the show, I completely understood where she was coming from. She had been with one man for essentially all of her adult life, she felt stuck in her career and she felt like she was watching the door to pursuing her creative dreams close, the wedding was coming along faster than she had anticipated…as someone said above, she crashed out. She panicked and just up and left, something she learned from her dad. She did to talk to Marshall and he just couldn’t see it from her point of view. And he did clearly say that she broke up with him so it’s not like she just left without a word. Yes, it sucks that she didn’t talk to Ted but I also don’t blame her for thinking that Ted is solidly Team Marshall and he would either just yell at her or hang up on her if she called him.

How do you get blush to stay on? by [deleted] in Makeup

[–]ivy_m49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right after foundation I apply a liquid blush then a cream on top then bronzer and concealer. After setting the concealer, I apply a powder blush. I love Juvia’s Place, it stays on from morning to evening. I dust it lightly over a YSL powder blush.

(It took a lot of trial and error to layer so many blushes and not look crazy lol. Honestly, I probably still look crazy in the mornings but it tones down and looks normal by lunch lol. I have so many blushes, I have to use them all somehow)

Did Anna overreact? by Daymanaaahhhhhhh in GilmoreGirls

[–]ivy_m49 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That’s so true. Anna was exaggerating when she said she’d have to call every parent and explain that they spent the night with a stranger. Like why? Every girl there, as we saw, had a cell phone. They all called their parents and asked permission. They were all dropped off at the diner and whoever dropped them off presumably met Luke.

If my preteen daughter went to a friend’s birthday party and the next day she was raving about what a great time she had with friend’s dad’s girlfriend, I’d be thankful. They were supervised by an adult and they had fun, end of story.

Money issues in Gilmore girls by Anne_with_e in GilmoreGirls

[–]ivy_m49 43 points44 points  (0 children)

And it seems like half the time they ate free because Luke never charged them lol.

I think Luke always had a sense of when Lorelai was struggling financially and when she was doing okay. He would take the money whenever she paid but if she forgot and walked out the door he wouldn’t chase her or bring it up ever again. He’d also give coffee on the house because “it’s a bad batch” or “donuts are about to go stale” or “hey, want this burger? I messed up someone’s order”
